I've done the RAM dance with every combo of A0/A1/B0/B1. BMC is 12.61.35, and tried both BIOS F19 and F20I have one running a 5900X and another a 3600X without any issues, which BIOS and BMC versions are you on?
Also maybe try with just one stick of ram in B1 (check the manual but I'm pretty sure that's the 1 stick config)
Are you sure it's not doing POST just fine, but it's the Display Output / KVM that is broken ?I've done the RAM dance with every combo of A0/A1/B0/B1. BMC is 12.61.35, and tried both BIOS F19 and F20

if in europe i'll take it for 40 €, despite state, i'll do postage tooI've set up the system again. VGA output on the board doesn't work, BMC now also doesn't lease DHCP. Guess it's a return...
Main system at home here is at 75w idle with 5600x,128Gb ECC, 4x 20tb HDD, 4x Intel 4610 1.92Gb SDD, and 25Gb Mellanox ConnectX-4 NIC, no spindown or powesave on HDD'sit turned out that you need different tool for amd processors (GitHub - hattedsquirrel/ryzen_monitor: Monitor power information of Ryzen processors via the PM table of the SMU - thanks Wolfgang!)
after bit of tinkering with proxmox headers and libraries incompatibility here is the output ╭───────────────────────────────────────────────┬─────────────────────────────── - Pastebin.com
most of the cores are in C6 most of the time, what i guess is good.
My homelab is taking around 65-75W on average (5600x, 5xNVME, 2x HDD, zigbee usb dongle) is that a lot?
Hi,Hey I'm trying to post with the Ryzen 5 4650G but no success so far, I hope you guys could help me.
System specs:
What I've Already Tried
- Motherboard: GIGABYTE MC12-LE0
- PSU: Cooler master MWE 550.
- RAM: 2 sticks of Kingston ECC KSM32ES8/8HD
- CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 4650G
- BMC: 12.61.21 (latest version)
- BIOS: Updated to F18 (latest version)
- I'm checking POST status via BMC and H5 viewer (shows "no signal")
CPU Testing
RAM Testing
- Installed Ryzen 5 4650G - no POST
- Got the store to replace the 4650G with another one - still no POST (they say they test the CPUs before selling, but I could not confirm this)
- Tested with a borrowed Ryzen 5 3600 - successfully POSTs (with non-ECC RAM, did not remember to test with my ECC Ram).
Troubleshooting Steps Completed
- Tried one ECC RAM stick in every slot (A0, A1, B0, B1) with the 4650G - no POST
- Tested with non-ECC RAM - still no POST with the 4650G
- (The non-ECC RAM works fine with the Ryzen 3600)
-----
- Updated BIOS to latest version (F18)
- Cleared CMOS multiple times
- Tried booting with minimal configuration (just CPU and one RAM stick)
- Tried booting with CPU but no RAM (did not hear any beep codes)
What Should I Try Next?
I'm trying to avoid buying additional parts that might not solve the issue. What would you recommend?
Any help would be greatly appreciated! I've spent many hours on this issue already and I'm running out of ideas.
- Try another power supply?
- Try a different APU model?
- Any other troubleshooting steps I might have missed?
Thanks
Just posting this for posterity - Ryzen Pro CPUs that hit the market are typically factory pulls, and are often vendor-locked. Short story is that most of these CPUs just won't run in anything besides the original box they were installed into.Hi,
I had exactly the same problem. I had RAM, two Ryzen 7 3700x processors and it got to the point where I was sending the boards to support because I didn't know what was wrong. After I gave up for a while I recently bought two CPUs (Ryzen 5 5600x and Ryzen 7 5600x, RAM I had from the QVL list and now both boards work fine. I would check that you put one bone in slot A1 and that the CPU is working. Unfortunately, the board is capricious and BIOS updates at the time did not help or BMI.

Does this help? This is what's in my machine (four of them):Hi,
And do you have any information on what 32GB 3200MHz RAM dice work outside of the QVL list?

Just for price guidance - I got my four sticks of ECC 32GB 3200 for $118 - less than a $1/GBI run 2x Kingston 9965745-042.A01G on one MB and 2x Kingston 9965745-026.A00G on anaother
works perfectly fine. Be careful not to buy accidentially RegECC sticks, not every offer on eBay is clear and they are often cheaper than unregistered ECC.... Just bought 32 GB RegECC for a Gigabyte MJ11 for 50 bucks....
