Is it that x16 cards don't work or what do people install as a GPU usually?
x16 is not the problem. the option to set PEG as primary video device is hidden ("suppressed")
you can use the PCIe GPU in your OS, but not as BIOS POST display device.

note if you able to set PCIe GPU(PEG) as primary video dev. you can't see it's picture over remote H5Viewer,
that works because the VGA Card is integrated in the BMC chip itself.

Alright will try that. In Ubuntu Live I didn't get HDMI output because it initialized via BMC probably and doesn't switch then.
Let's see how it looks like after installing an OS.

BMC VGA will be primary for the OS, in windows i switch PEG to primary then....

I have bought 2 of these boards. I use a Pro 4650G CPU and unregisterd ecc mem.

I have a 10G nic in the 4x slot.

And a pci to 2xnvme in the 16x slot with ontop of it a arc310.

The issue is that if I set burification to 8x4x4 of 4x4x8 the arc isn't recognized. I think it might be due to the fact the CPU has 20 pci lanes but I'm not quite sure

I use a similar config: 2x NVME + 10Gbit NIC via adapter and 4x4x8 bifurcation - no problem

8 lanes should be sufficient for the arc gpu.

try to put the arc in the x4 slot and the NIC in the adapter in the x16 slot

How is everyone mounting the main low profile pcie card when using a 4x4x8 bifurcation adapter? Is there an eloquent way to mount it or it just flopping around?

a low profile ontop of the adapter should line up to screw in same as a full height card.

Have you actually done this? Form my experience it doesn't work.
It should come out like this

Note, the half height pci bracket is NOT on the P4 in this picture, but when it is, the bracket is sitting around 0.5/1mm above the usual slot height.

The awkward you may find is the 1/2 pci bracket will be upside down in the full length slot

My MB sits horizontal in this case so it was safe to go without bracket.

Edit: Noticed that is not the MC-12LE0 in the picture but the same applies

Any idea what the "11) BP_1 (HDD Backplane Board Connector)" that is mentioned in the manual is?

Is there any way to expand HDD capacity without using the PCIe / M.2 slots?

Wow! Talk about price fluctuation. I looked at this in the beginning of the week and they were €55 each incl cooler from Piospartslap. Today when I finally decided to make an order of two they’d more than doubled the price to €127 each.. I made a price suggestion for €55 and commented that I’d like to buy it for their cheaper earlier price.
It got rejected, oh well..

Then today they’re back at the same low €55 price again.. ‍o_O

Edit: Nope, must’ve been a cached site that showed €55. If I refreshed it went up to €127 again…

It's a common thing with some sellers, they probably didn't have more entered into inventory so this was the "if you really want it, we'll find a way" price.

If you message them before making the offer they tell you just to make an offer but they accept it that time (well they did for me).
I had already got one previously at the bargain price tho.

Maybe they have only got a handful left though.

Not many weeks since they mentioned having "several thousand" left when i asked if these would be running out soon.
Their own site is at 202 in stock but its dropped below 100 a few times and then goes back up to 250.

But initialy they were the only company dumping these, it looks like 3 resellers bought bulk from them and started selling in Europe also.
Either they just hiked the price to make it look like a great deal as they drop it again (they have done this several times) or they take note of how it-petersen etc were selling 100s at twice the price they did.

PIO raised their price to 149€ while it-petersen is still selling at 149.95€
