Thanks a lot - I assume you told about this?
Very interesting _Dejan_

Right now I cannot find 'acs enable' on my 5650G PRO

I am on the F14 BIOS and 126121 firmware, maybe an update is required.

Edit: So some research later, in the situation of the APUs (like my 5650g), it seems they do not have VFIO functionality, but non APU CPU should give the 'acs enable' capability. I am sure someone with more processor options than me can confirm :)
I saw this earlier and I tried passthrough the disk but it did not work but when I tried to passthrough antire controller it works and finally after almost whole day of trouble I can install OpenMediavault ;)

But question is still relevant - what SATA controler can I buy if I want to have separate disk connected to use it inside proxmox for other VM? Let's say additional 2x 2 TB SSD for other VMs for now I will use local disk where proxmox is installed to host some VMs but it has only 512 GB - I didn't know that it will be used for something more than proxmox itself so I grab smallest / cheapest I could get ;)

Again - Thanks for help.

This can be used in the m.2 slot for more SATA.

Also earlier in the thread you will find discussion around bifurcation, so you could use an adapter and have 2/4 nvmes.

Or you can use a sata controller and get a HBA for the pci slot with many sata.

Which CPU are you using that were able to passthrough the controller?

Some potentially useful info: these are pcie x2 and won't keep up if you happen to add lots of fast (ssd) drives. There's a nice test done here. They seem to be pretty great otherwise. I don't think there's an x4 version around - the controller itself is the limit and other attempts seem to be kinda janky dual controller things that end up being too pricy.

Also, the m.2 slot on the MC12-LE0 is only a x1 - basically just meant for a boot drive.

Keep the M.2 slot for boot. For more SATA ports, get a (second-hand) SAS HBA.

My board had issues keeping uefi settings and somewhat randomly decided to reset. Turns out i forgot the basics... check your CR2032 batteries guys :)

It seems like the IPMI log will tell you, but only once. I lost the notification in all the other log entries while tinkering and setting up.

Hello
I plan on the future to use the M.2 slot for that sata adapter. I don't plan on using SSD on it just HDDs (16-20TB each, i don't know yet) will that be fine?
On the PCIe x4 i will use a 10Gbps NIC, and the x16 i want it to be free for when i add a GPU

You will be limited to about 1GB/s on a pcie gen 3 x1 link, so it depends on what disks you use and how many.

Hello
I just bought a motherboard like this and im now waiting for my ryzen 5600 cpu to arrive. I am considering buying a hba 9300-16i controller but can anyone confirm it works? I see that the 9400-16i is listed on the QVL list.

There's no reason why it wouldn't work. If you can, get a 9305-16i: It is a more modern single controller (3216) and uses less power than the 9300-16i, which is two 3008 controllers and a switch on a card.

Yep avoid the 9300-16i, if possible.. it works but uses a lot of power and runs very hot

There are some nice deals going on Lenovo 430-16i (9400-16i) about 80-90 USD

Hi all,

can't get any video output with a dedicated GPU, anyone has an idea why?

CPU: Ryzen 5 5500
2x RAM: 1x 32GB Mushkin MPL4E320NF32G28 (in 2nd slot from cpu), also tried with some 16GB G-Skill
2x GPU: Radeon HD 7750, also tried Radeon HD 5770

Even tried with two different MC12-LE0 mainboards, same result.

Can update BMC to 12.61.21, can also update Bios. Tried Bios F13, F15 and F18. After flashing Bios POST is obviously fine, can see correct inventory (CPU, GPU) in WebGUI.
Can also boot Ubuntu and see everything in H5Viewer.

But just can't seem to get any HDMI output.
