I just want to add ym two cents to the ones who are facing issues by the first setup of the board and who thinks their boards are DOA (dead on arrival - just for the search engines).
First, for me it looked like the board was also DoA:
- No monitor output, no VGA signal
- no reaction to hitting any key
- no reaction to the power buttons (the fans startet to spin after plugging in the power cord)
- no BMC connectivity (or at least I thought so)
- just noisy fans
- No Post BEEP
Now my setup:
AMD Ryzen 5 Pro 5650G
Gigabyte MC12-LE0 Rev1.0
2x 16 GB Kingston ECC DDR3200 RAM (KSM32/ED8/16MR)
PicoPSU 160XT (160 Watts, 12V Input) + Leicke 12v 120Watts AC-DC PSU (will change to 192 Watt AC DC PSU)
What I found out, in parts thanks to this thread:
According to some opinions in this thread, the board or CPU should be doa if there is neither a beep nor VGA output, wasn't correct in my case. In the end it was all due to the fact, that the CPU wasn't yet supported by the BIOS.
First I thought, despite the LED code of the BMC was correct (Slow blinking is good=ready for operation), it is dpa. I didn't find the IP of the BMC. The router arp table didn't knew it. Then I checked my dhcp server and looked for the MAC address which is printed on the BMC NIC. And I found an IP. And from that point it was quite easy.
I downloaded the latest BIOS file, updated the BIOS via the BMC (it seem all Board for about 50 € / $50 are shipped with F06 BIOS, and check for the right selcection in the menu what you want to update). The update was successfull according to the BMC WebGUI, but still the same issues as I mentiond at the beginning of the post and BMC still showed that BIOS F6 is currently running. The solution was to unplug the power after the BIOS update. After a new cold start, the right BIOS with F11 startet, the CPU was corrctly recognized as 5650G instead of 3600x and I also got a VGA output.
