Hello,
I've had a TP-Link T1700-28TQ since they were released and the 10GB SFP+ works great for my NAS/iSCSI connection for VMWare, I however recently purchased a QNAP QNA-UC5G1T USB 3.2 Gen 1 to 5GbE adapter to get faster transfers to and from my MacBook Pro, via my existing home wiring (Cat6).
I have seen the STH YouTube clip regarding "cheap SFP+ to RJ45" modules but unfortunately in Australia these are virtually impossible to source, so I purchased a Ubiquiti version (UF-RJ45-10G) but it doesn't seem to want to play nice, and won't even dumb down to 1GBe let alone the 5GBe that I was after!
So, getting to the point, can anyone let me know if it would be my switch that is the issue, or the module? If I do happen to get hold of one of the modules that supports 2.5/5/10GBe like the MikroTik S+RJ10, will it work at 5GBe speeds with my existing switch, the T1700-28TQ?
Thanks in advance!
