a bit old-school, but 24x1G (SFP/Copper) + 4x 10G (XFP/CX4) for 68 notes isn't to be sniffed at: EU - ZyXEL-XGS4528F 24x 1G/4x 10G switch £68 crazy deal
I bought one from amazon uk, it should arrive either this weekend or monday next week.I am considering picking up one of the TPlink T1700G-28TQ switches to pair with my XS708T since the TPlink is fanless. Just wondering if anyone has anymore feed back on the TPlink?
nice price point. but the benefits of that design seems very limited. it has no managed features and presumably is designed for a NAS device on one of the 10G ports while other "NAS-clients" are on the 1G ports. In effect, the "clients" would still be limited by the 1G ports. In an environment where you only have 8x 1G ports, I think the chances are low that you have 8x "clients" simultaneously saturating their link to the 10G port.
I saw that but it seems extremely limited. Compare it to the Mikrotik CRS226 and for basically the same price you get nice management as well as 3x the 1GbE ports. We finished the desktop Mikrotik review over 18 months ago.
Vlan over lag issues sorted. It's a web gui issue, works fine from cli.I grabbed a t1700-28tq from amazon uk a few weeks back. Was real chuffed with it but now seem to have vlan over lag/lacp issues. Not 100% sure it's the switch at the moment, could be me
Has anyone tried the TrendNet TEG-30284 with various DAC cables and optics to see if they're doing any vendor locking? considering picking one up as the payback in power over my HP 2900 using CX4 is roughly a year. (25w vs 200w)
