Just saw these guys start to pop up on ebay. Quanta LB6M. Looks like there are 24x 10Gb ports plus 4x gigabit ports (great for the WAN side).

Best part: $1000 or less and unlike the netgear ones, these have redundant PSUs. All of the listings say HP so that is cool.

#1 $1k OBO free ship: HP Quanta LB6M 10GB 24 Port SFP Switch QSSC LB630SR 90 Day Warranty VXWORKS5 5 2 | eBay
#2 $1k OBO free ship: HP Quanta LB6M 10GB 24 Port SFP Switch QSSC LB630SR 100 Tested Linux 2 6 21 7 | eBay
#3 $1k OBO free ship 4 avail: HP Quanta LB6M 10GB 24 Port SFP Switch w 4 Gigabit Ports Dual Power Supply | eBay
#4 $1k OBO free ship 2 avail: HP Quanta LB6M 10GB 24 Port SFP Switch 30 Day Warranty | eBay
#5 Israel non-US $940 + ship: HP Quanta LB6M 10GB 24 Port SFP Switch with Dual Power Supply | eBay might be nice for someone outside the US.

Kinda hot?!? Better than those cheapo Netgears.

Anyone got the full spec list and capabilities for these? How deep of Layer 3 can it handle with no performance drop?

That looks sweet, wonder what pwr draw and environmental factors are (does it ROAR?) I like how you get 4 ports of what I assume is GigE. Wish it was 20-24 port 10G SFP+ and 8 ports RJ-45 GigE though.

@Biren78...you suck! haha, my budget it tapped, gonna have to hang tight for a bit unless these hit $750 pricepoint. DMAN upon second looksie, I see all are BO, bet one of you can get one for $700-800, how low can we go???

The 6 extra ports are 1 GbE ports. 4 of them are switched and 2 of them are management ports.

Also when looking around for more info I came across this gem. Looks like they have made a TON of these.
2014-06-10 QCH INC. QUANTA COMPUTER USA INC. TECH COM(SHANGHAI) COMPUTER CO., LTD. 800 CARTONS OF 80 PLTS SWITCH BOX LB6 M(8726 AC 2)W 833 MHZ(AMAZONPACKING LIST NO: \N800 CARTONS OF 80 PLTS SWITCH BOX LB6 M(8726 AC 2)W 833 MHZ(AMAZON PACKING LIST NO:

And it looks like Amazon bought them. But if Amazon is dumping these, wow.... That is a ton of switches.

I'm guessing these would be too loud for my "environment" (aka: utility room in the basement). I'd definitely have to mod one with some 120mm fans.

I think I'm going to keep an eye on these though. At $1000, it's a pretty good deal... but if thousands of these get offloaded and show up on eBay, the prices will end up being much better (think C6100 or even the LB4M).

I got bo'd back at 980$ Good deal but with more of these maybe hitting eBay, I will pass.

This will likely be just as loud as the LB4M. That was loud and hot. It also only lasted 6 months until one day if rebooted and never came back.. Leary of these without a lot of airflow...

I like the Quantas but won't buy without warranty. I had a LB4M. 6 months worked great and one day it was just dead. Would power on and hang. 400$ waste. It was also noisy and hot. I have experimented with a lot of network gear, and I find the good 10gbe stuff to be power sucking and noisy. Great deal of you can afford to take a risk and can cool it. My closet gets too warm tokeep it running without burning too hot...

I just got one LB6M from ebay at $368+plus s/h, dual power supply, powered on with a watt meter, show 150W when turn on two power supply, 130W for single power supply.

Now it just like a brick before me, since I cannot find out user manual / configuration manual, could any expert here can give me any suggest or hint, how to connect to the switches (console port or management port) default user/pass, how to access the cli or web ui, etc.

Thanks
