This is the duo version, they require more power for full performance and cooling (the latter one can become a problem in a desktop chassis!).
Other than that it's like a normal block device, you can do what ever you want with it. I use my iodrive2 for downloads (17pb write endurance ftw :D), some lightweight vms in vmware workstation and storage for video encoding.

Nice. I was concerned mostly about getting drivers for Windows 10. Also, this system will have OSX on another drive for a dual-boot. Any idea if the drive will work in that environment?

There are drivers available on sandisk website, but I have no idea if they support the newest version of mac os.
