Not quite - I wish.230 EUR for 5 units shipped? That's amazing! Congrats.
Just out of curiosity, where is your 10G NIC going when you use it as vSAN for your VM's?Fresh installation of Fujitsu custom 7U3, one Intel P4610, one 900p, one S3700, E3-1245v6, 4x16G mem -> 31W idle in ESXi boot screen
I would think 175€ would get you better stuff than 1 lowly xeon and two measly memory modules ... I am sure there are better deals to be made. Just need to find themNot quite - I wish.
Its 205 per server - and 25 for all 5 shipped.
So a total of 1050 EUR
Which is A LOT more than I thought to spend on this when I started thinking about it because @Rand__ posted his message about this "cheap" chassis
Which 10G nic? I have a CX3 in the first x8 slot - which is why I'll be using vsphere 7 instead of 8.Just out of curiosity, where is your 10G NIC going when you use it as vSAN for your VM's?
Seems I missed that somewhere.Which 10G nic? I have a CX3 in the first x8 slot - which is why I'll be using vsphere 7 instead of 8.
It was mentioned in post #4 and was missing (fixed now) in #36Seems I missed that somewhere.
~55€ for 10P.S. 0 Caddies, since they want 43 EUR per caddy :-D - I hope I get get 10 caddies for less than 100 EUR on ebay.
Btw, thanks to the open ended pcie slot I also could run a x16 CX5 in the box (o/c at limited rate), but both the 2x25G card and the 2x100G cards draw ~6W idle more and are likely to get hotter too... but its an option for vsphere 8 - or when the CX3Pros dont do proper RoCEv2 after all...Which 10G nic? 28W idle box with this config: Intel P4610, one 900p, one S3700, E3-1245v6, 4x16G ?Btw, thanks to the open ended pcie slot I also could run a x16 CX5 in the box (o/c at limited rate), but both the 2x25G card and the 2x100G cards draw ~6W idle more and are likely to get hotter too... but its an option for vsphere 8 - or when the CX3Pros dont do proper RoCEv2 after all...
Just fyi - without the CX3 the box idles at ~27-28.
Its 205 including VAT, but I might be wrong, since seller's math is different than normal mathI would think 175€ would get you better stuff than 1 lowly xeon and two measly memory modules ... I am sure there are better deals to be made. Just need to find them
Edit - or 170 if you add 5 more for shipping since thats likely more expensive then
Is that with tax or without?
- You can get new 2666 modules for €42 (inc tax)... that leaves you 80 bucks for cpus...
...
- Ok, CPU prices are crazy. But you can get single/individual 1220v6's at ~€50 - that leaves a lot for shipping
Oh and I spent €145 on 5 of these and not a dime more yet. Not my fault you don't hoard all your old stuff
You are too kind But the only thing I think makes sense is the CPU's and they are okay, since I can get 5 shipped for 15 EUR total - and the chassis will be expensive for you as well to ship - unless you can ship it cheaper than 75 EUR for 5 units total.Still happy to offer to consolidate shipping for you if seller is from Germany and its worth shipping twice over to you directly...
I also have two 1220's left I think that I prolly have no memory for atm...
For ECC UDIMM? normal DDR4 UDIMMs are cheap, but ECC UDIMMs are expensive everywhere.€42 was Mindfactory, + 6.90 shipping within Germany ( -Tax)
This could bring my total down to 856+shipping for the RAM (ex VAT) for 5 units shipped - we are getting there (if mindfactory can sell without VAT directly to me and not rip me off on shipping)
