Fujitsu Thin Client FUTRO S740 Inofficial max RAM

Hi everyone,

I'm currently looking at a bunch of cheap S740 for a little, cheap, lower-powered cluster fun. The official specs claim 8GB RAM max (as does the intel ark page for the J4105 this machine is based on). I now that the Asrock J4105-itx has been tested with up to 32GB of RAM. Does anyone now if these thin clients can also do more than 8GB?

There are reports that one 16GB SO-DIMM is working, but the board is a picky about the configuration.

16 GB (2Rx8 Dual Rank) should work.
I did found some reports for 32 GB (2Rx8 Dual Rank) and 16 GB (1Rx8 Single Rank) that didn't work

I use S740 with single 16Gb module.
S740 doesn't have a second memory slot, so can't really test 32 (and I don't have a single 32Gb module)

Can I ask about the make and model of the ram you have working? I tried Crucial's CT16G4SFRA32A and that didn't work in my S740

A follow up.

cBorisa replied "Hi! I have 2Rx8 PC4-2666V-SE1-11 (HMA82GS6DJR8N)" in a pb to me.

Meanwhile I ordered 16GB Computer memory DDR4 for Fujitsu D3544-A RAM SO DIMM from phs-memory.com and can confirm that it works in my Fujitsu Futro S740

Comparing the Crucial ram that didn't work with the ram cBorisa mentioned, I took a leap of fate and ordered 1x S/O 16GB DDR4 PC 3200 Kingston ValueRam KVR32S22D8/16 as the ram from phs-memory was rather pricey. I can confirm that the Kingston ram also works in my S740.

I've now ordered a Kingston 32GB DDR4-3200MHZ NON-ECC CL22 | SODIMM 2RX8 (KVR32S22D8/32) to see if I can get a 32 GB block of memory to work too, it was in backorder so I'll update when I've tried it..

The Crucial ram that didn't work was single rank memory while the Kingston and the ram cBorisa got to work is dual ran 2Rx8 so maybe that's the key to success?

Than it should be obvious that 1R does not work and you need dual rank 16GB

Good luck with 32GB non of mine worked

Excellent list, no need for me to try that 32GB kingston that's in backorder when someone else have already confirmed that it won't work.
