There's one on ebay US "unbranded" for about a K USD right now. OP didn't give location. 1PB writes on OP's drives but big drives long life so health stats make sense. If OP has lanes/channels and drive slots they may want to consider Trade by Capacity - four x 7.68TB SATA for two x 15.46TB SAS? Value prop is roughly the same right now thanks to AI madness. Just more real estate with smaller drives.
I think that 4 x 7.68 Tb will be good. I need 15Tb space and of course, I need some redundancy. So yes, 4 x 7.68 is good, as long as it is SATA.
I read my initial message and notice that it may have sound kind of harsh... I need SATA SSD because my backplane does not support this SAS devices. It is an old one and combined with an ARECA 1882 it works well.
I try to upgrade with an ARECA 1883, which I get but I remember too late that I also have 3M flat cable 8087 and that the 1883 needs 8643 to 8087. So to make it short, SAS SSD are good with the ARECA 1883 and works great with direct cable, but I can't use them in my setup because I can upgrade the backplane.
I spent a lot of time to have the 1883 email notification working to finally realize its implementation is broken because ARECA not correctly added TLS support. I had to setup a SMTP relay on my LAN to get the notification email. All put together, I am good enough with the 1882 and SATA SSD
