Do you know if the 4Kn is compatible with 9260/80 Lsi controller? Pretty sure it is as they are listing that controller as a supported card. Hours?

Sadly it doesn't look like it. I know I have a 9260-16i and that was a no-go - and it looks like the 9280 is the same.

Any idea if these will work in an HPE DL360p Gen8 without invoking high speed fans? If I can be reasonably sure the fans won't roar to life I'm interested.

I would be inclined to say yes they would cause fans to be more active, but that depends on base temperature of your room. They do generally have a higher thermal base and power draw. However they are some of the newer drives 2.5 enterprise drives which might be more energy efficient and slip into the lower thermal zone for fan/motherboard controller. Maybe seller will able to give more information.
