Up for sale are two Norco RPC-4224 24-bay 4U rack mount chassis with rails. They are currently configured as DAS units, but they will support E-ATX motherboards if you want to reconfigure them.

Pictures: ("Chassis A" on the bottom, "Chassis B" on the top)

Current configuration/specs:
  • Dell SAS2 expander (N4C2D) with 3x SFF-8088 external connections
  • HP 460W PSU with mining breakout board
  • 2 or 3 75W 12v to 5v converters to power the backplanes (two in Chassis A and three in Chassis B)
  • Two 80mm and one 92mm 4-pin PWM exhaust fans with PWM fan controller (adjustment knob on a PCI slot bracket)
  • 120mm internal fan wall and set up for the same PWM fan controller as the exhaust fans) (but no fans or controller, but did leave the knob - needed these parts elsewhere)
  • Chassis A has backplanes labeled “01 SAS V1.0”
  • Chassis B has backplanes labeled “01 12Gb V2.0”
  • 24 trays and required screws each
  • Various custom cables and 3D printed parts to really tie the chassis together
  • Rails (supposedly the OEM rails but they didn't line up properly in the rack, so I had to redrill the holes on the inner rails so they lined up properly).
Not as smooth all around as a SuperMicro, but still perfectly functional, especially if you just need a place to park spinning rust.

IMPORTANT NOTE: The backplanes have 3.3v regulators on board, so for many drives you will end up having to tape over pins 1-3 on the drive's power connector to get them to power up. This is annoying, and if I were keeping them, I would be taking out the backplanes and cutting the traces to 3.3v regulators to permanently fix them.

I've also got some external SAS cables I can include (SFF-8088 to SFF-8644) if you want. Plus power cord.

Currently asking: $250 each individually or $450 for both.

Located in 98030. Local pickup only (or maybe we can arrange delivery within a reasonable distance of 98030).

Looking to sell each one as a complete unit at the moment, but that may change if there's no interest in that.

Your builds are beautiful, homebrew yet with such care and attention to detail with 3d printed parts and nice cable routing
