FS: Matching Pair - Intel Xeon X5670 – used

I have a pair of x5670's and passive 2u heatsinks. I figured i'd see if anyone in the STH community wanted them before i put them up on Ebay.

2x SuperMicro SNK-P0038P 2U Passive cooler - $20 for both

Thats correct they are only for socket LGA1366

1366 and 2011 use the same mounting hardware so they should work for a 2011 socket. Whether they cool the proc well enough is another story.

The socket 1366 and 2011 cpu cooling mounting holes are the same size but they are not the same in the way the cooler is mounted. In socket 1366, they are thru holes. In socket 2011, they are threaded hole and does not go all the wall thru.

Fortunately, server 1366 motherboard also have thread on the cooler mounting holes so some of the socket 2011 cpu coolers do fit/mount fine. The desktop 1366 motherboard usually won't have thread like that.
