I am selling an APC Netshelter CX 24U. This quiet 19" server cabinet is in excellent condition! Please let me know if you are interested. Thanks!

Price is $1750. Would prefer local pickup in Dallas, TX and payment in cash. I can also ship the server rack via Navis Pack and Ship for $900 to the 48 contiguous US states. Will deliver for $250 within 300 mile radius of Dallas.

Are you sure it's an AR4024A and not an AR4024 (No A)? The AR4024A is the updated model. There were a few changes including locks on the side panels which I don't see in your pictures. Either way still a good quiet rack.

Okay, yes it might be the AR4024 and not the AR4024A. The side panels detach but do not have locks or hinges. Thanks for clarifying. I will update my listings!

It is expensive but it is soundedened and is intended to be located out in the open in an office environment. This rack would be perfect for someone’s living room maybe even a bed room. They are quite expensive new so this looks like a good deal for the condition.

Value on these is tricky as they don't come up for sale very often on the used market, which I guess is testament to how great they are. I had this exact same model and it was great for soundproofing, but I had to let is going when moving. Currently I'm on the hunt for the updated 18U version as the back panel on the original is a bit of a pain in the ass.

Yes, I was surprised that I didn't really see any others on the used market when I started looking to sell it. I am trying to figure out how much freight will cost so I can open it up to a wider audience.

The idea of having a half rack of servers being able to sit inside of a work area intrigues me, but can anyone who has used one of these comment on the cooling? I'm having trouble imagining these could be both relatively silent and able to keep 24 U of servers cool enough. APC does have a paper here: http://www.apc.com/salestools/NWHG-8SJN9A/NWHG-8SJN9A_R1_EN.pdf that gives some numbers for "Max Thermal Loading".

I asked another vendor of soundproofed enclosures and I was told "the enclosures don't cool, they exhaust the hot air".
The cooling happens by dissipating the heat/energy in the surrounding air.

Yeah the whitepaper you referenced is the best source of information I have. As stated in the paper, the size of the room the rack is located in will also come into play with the maximum thermal load.
