just for curiousity about m2 >> sata boards

any brand or model name ??
By the colour of it, StarTech 35S24M2NGFF (which likely comes out of the same production line as Silverstone SDP11).

1. 48TB SSD storage subsystem. Looking to sell this as a group, but if I can account for all of the SSDs and the 24-port HBA, I’ll part it out. If you want the entire thing as it is setup, I will include a 150W picoPSU with the custom made SATA power cables (will power this no problem as long as you have a reasonable CPU tdp – I used a supermicro X10sdv-TL4NF+ for my freenas box -- motherboard/ram/cpu are not included in this sale). This will fit in a 2U case, height-wise and generally takes up the same amount of space as two 3.5" hdds. $3800 + shipping

Lovely contraption! Good luck with the sale. (And do not hesitate to update the listing if there's no buyer and you end up coming to Europe with it…)

As stated above -- these are the Startech quad m.2 to sata adapters (I bought them from Amazon) -- the Silverstone ones (black PCB) are pretty much the same thing.

It looks like those Blues are rated 500TBW, can you provide SMART data for TBW already used?
I failed to do that before I took everything apart, but it's a good point to post that info; I will put it back together when I get back from snowboarding and get the data added to the OP. I imagine they are *nowhere* near that limit as they were used for local network media storage FreeNAS/Plex, but will check the data and post it :)

pretty cool setup, what kind of performance were you getting through the hba?

GLWS
~400MB/sec to my wired PC on the network; not nearly enough to tax the 10gbe, but pretty snappy. Probably due to my zvol configuration, honestly.

All 24 drives are between 4152 and 10984 GiB written, so at *most* ~2% of the way through that 500TBW rating :)

I am moving to Europe this summer, so am looking to unload a bunch of items out of my rack / storage room. Only trade I am looking for would be a rackmount lithium ion UPS of at least 1000VA output with a maximum depth of 12”. Ok, would also consider a Dell 8K monitor :)

I recognize that I've got a new account here, but I have tons of Heatware (handle: Machupo) stretching back decades. For some reason I had never made an account here and when some folks at [H] suggested that I post this here after my FS thread there, I followed suit. Items will be shipped via your method of choice (USPS, UPS, or Fedex) where available. I can take Paypal for payment, but my preference would be BTC or ETH transfer. Happy to negotiate prices, and will consider bulk discounts, but lowballs or "what's your best price" will be ignored.

- 24x 2TB Western Digital Blue m.2 SATA SSDs (WDS200T2B0B drives) - $130 + shipping each
- LSI 9305-24i HBA - $480 + shipping (no box, but will throw in the 6x HBA cables for free)
- 8x modified (shortened PCB and additional mounting holes drilled) quad-m.2 adapters (you get two extra that I had laying around :)) + $25/ea + shipping

Picture of system (this sale is only for the storage subsystem, not the computer)

2. Rack cabinet with robust UPS battery. $650. Local sale in Kansas only; not going to try and ship this thing, together they weigh well over 200lbs. DM if you are serious and we can workout a link up.

- 12U full-depth rackmount cabinet w/ heavy duty casters and lockable doors.
- 3U Tripp-lite 3000VA UPS (SU3000RTXR3U) with good/new-ish batteries and WEBCARDLX network mangement card. There is minor damage to the plastic fascia on the front, but all LEDs and controls work fine. Pardon the dust -- it will be cleaned before delivery, lol.

if yoI don’t need the money for the move and would rather keep this hardware then I would strongly advise finding a way to keep this or ship it to yourself because getting hardware here in Europe is much more expensive. Import fees, shipping, exchange rates, taxes all of them conspire to make things very expensive.

I did the same move. At one point my garage in the states had so many parts that on a few occasions I when bored went down into the garage on a Saturday and emerged with a computer. I can’t do that here. Things are far too pricey.

Move is covered as part of the relocation, so I guess I could just take it all with me. Honestly, I'm half tempted to double down and get two of those Icy Dock MB872MP-Bs, lol... but haven't managed to win the lottery lately :p

Seriously take as much hardware with you as you can -- don't make the same mistake I did. You can get hardware for so much cheaper in the US than here in the EU.

What was the zfs config and performance like?
configured as three vdevs of 8 in z2 (yeah, I know; crappy config -- I was a noob when I first built this). sustained rates were ~800MB/sec, but I spent almost zero time on tuning it -- got it working and moved on.
