*SOLD*

I have two SM X10 microATX boards that I no longer need. Asking $200/each shipped. They were used in a HCI cluster and ran rock solid until they were replaced recently. They both have BIOS upgrade keys installed so they can be updated from the IPMI. They are socket 2011 boards and will run either Xeon E5 V3 or V4 CPUs (I was using 22 core E5-2699V4 QS CPUs without a problem). Noctua makes at least one cooler that works great with these boards, can't remember the model but they are nearly silent.

Nice !
Getting rid of the hyper-v lab ?
Not a chance! I've got a full rack so I switched over to rack mount cases which has allowed me to use full atx boards. The only reason for the upgrade is to add more memory than the microatx boards can handle otherwise I would have stuck with them. The cluster is now running Server 2019 with 256GB ram in each node along with more storage and a couple of E5-2699V4 CPUs.

Ooh nice !!
Contemplating moving to 2019 too. But I did want to play around with remoteFX with 2016. I think they got rid of it with 2019 right ?

That's my understanding, you have to directly pass through a video card now I think. Don't quote me on that though. I would hold off on 2019 as long as you can. I'm having trouble finding drivers (though the built in drivers seem to work OK) and it's obvious it's a new product, a few rough edges that I"m sure will be ironed out in a few months.

That’s actually only the real downside to those boards, in X10 form they have only 4 dimms so 128gb in an easy way. For test purpose though all good.
X11 version support 192gb (6 x 32gb) in 6 slots easily is a lot better.

Yeah, I considered upgrading to x11 but the cost was even higher if I were to get equivalent CPUs. I think my next upgrade will involve epyc CPUs so having 8 dimms per machine helps me out there!

Number of dimms seems to be a concern more so with home fun, supermicro is ok but the norm for us in a work context is 12 dimms per cpu (2dpc) and that means 24 dimms per 2 cpu system so 768gb is easy with 32gb dimms.
That tends to satisfy most requirements for now and 64gb lrdimm is also an option in the few systems that need more.
