Firmware version 19 does not match driver version 20

A quick google search mentioned that I should be flashing my card to firmware version 16, I am wondering if that info is dated now though as the driver inlcuded in FREENAS seems to be v20, should the firmware not be p20 to match?

It would help to know the card/chip model as well as which FreeNAS device driver this is happening with. My guess is that it is an mps device.

Despite what you may read elsewhere, P20 works fine as long as you have 20.00.04.00. The older 20.00.02.00 and 20.00.00.00 had problems.

Back when a controller generation is new, keeping the driver and firmware in sync is more important. For example, a newer driver may request a service not provided by older firmware, or newer firmware may report a condition an older driver doesn't know how to handle. But the interface has been quite stable for these devices for some time.

I run many a FreeNAS setups w/ v19 IT mode driver although FreeNAS sure makes it a point to complain to me about it. Never had an issue.

I'm running v19 too -- keeps making it known ;) lol.

From what I've read here and on other forums v20 is ready to go though.

I upgraded to v20 when I built my box a few weeks ago. No problems at all.

Same here-v20 works just fine and the threads on the FreeNAS forum for the last while have started recommending. It's working just fine for me.
