I'm right there with you on this, I've been exploring my options(zfs, unraid), I think we will need to wait and see what the next version brings

Are you talking about FlexRAID Basic? If so, I am not aware of any "corruption". The way FRB works is just to compute parity on basically untouched, normal drives, and store it on a parity disk. So if there were any corruption, it should only be on the parity disk, not on your data disks. Unless there is some problem I have not heard of

Now, FlexRAID View and FlexRAID Live, I don't know much about except in theory, and they may (or may not) have had corruption problems.

I've never had any issues with FlexRaid, but I also haven't really committed any valuable data to it since I'm standardized on hardware based array controllers and waiting for the realtime version of flexraid before I consider slowly migrating off of hardware raid.

Meantime another programmer has popped up out of the woodwork to help Brahim with the client interface -- he wrote his own nice client GUI for the existing version of Flexraid, so its promising in that Brahim will have more help going forward, and we'll hopefully see updates happen quicker with Brahim focused on the engine rather than splitting his time on interface and aesthetics. You don't want Einstein spending time putting up wallpaper, numsayin.

I'm definitely rooting for that software, and the barrier to entry for people that aren't hardcore techies and just want to store files will be a lot lower with the new polished UI.

Has anyone been tinkering with FlexRAID Live? I understand it's still in BETA but the rumor mill has it that many people are using it with great success. I'd like to move away from my current shituation with WHS and DE and FlexRAID seems to be a great option. Also I plan on using Vail, and as we all know it offers no protection whatsoever.

That is exactly what I have seen out there. Box level hardware tracking and license tracking, but not as much on the internal components. There are some platforms that let you do this, but they are "dumb" and cannot tell the difference, for example, between an onboard and add-in controller.
