The limiting factor is an internal mechanism of unknown origin which starts clock stretching if the processor is pushed too far.
Thank you for this info, i thought maybe to trade mine 32 to 64 cores, but seems there's no point in my usage scenario. I use this more like a workstation, so single - threaded performance is important.
Reviewers of h11ssl says that supermicro used 60 amps mosfets in vrm, there's total 6 of them. So it gives us 360amps, to get to 3.5 my cpu needs 1.27-1.3V. HWinfo shows 250W of power, 250х1.27 = 325Amps, so vrm is already near its limits.

The formula is "Ampere * Voltage = Power Consumption"
So actual it should be 250W/1.27V = ~200A, correct?

Oops yes stupid me ) You right! So yes on paper it is 100amps more it can handle.
But still VRM temp (with 80mm fan) close to 60C at 100% load. I think it is unsafe to push it any further or..?

Have no clue whether the ES processors support the Epyc SMN registers.
But the zenpower module works great on my Ryzen and Epyc/Threadripper processors.
Gives me core (SVI2) and soc (SVI2) power, package power and per core power readings But it won't work past 24 cores. Works on my 7402P but fails on the 7502P and 7642 cpus with the higher core counts.

60C should be fine, power transistors are good for 100+C.

Is it possible to make the run like if it was a stock 7742. Do not wish to super overclock them.
Using the overclocking tool (back on page 1 of this discussion) I have run the a H11Dsi in a dual socket configuration with 'JUG5' CPU's up to 4.0Ghz with no problem (although it does take a lot of air cooling at this level)... It seems the sweetspot for the 64c ES processors (at least the one's I have) is right around 2.8 -- 3.1 depending on the application.

Thanks. I planning 2.60 - 2.75 is where I would need them for mining. Seems I will be able to achieve it. Not planing on pushing them to the MAX, just want stability. Thank you, It helps.

Gonna try this on four 7702Ps in a AS Rock Rack 4 Node. My as rock rack has bios level overclock, has anyone done this at the bios level and not using zenstates?

Guys, experiencing some weird stability issues, config h11ssl and zs1711. Thing is it is stable in heavy loads like rendering @3.5 for hours, but i get random black screens /bsods when idle like watching YouTube videos of doing video calls. I think this is somehow related with GPU load but again system is 100% stable at gaming. So this happens when CPU is more-less in idle state. Any clues? Maybe i should disable c-states or something

I think it is a known issue with all ryzens and some PSUs that don't mesh well with their powersaving tech.
Will search for more info in a moment, i remember there being a thread on it on level1techs.

@irgen this is the threat i remember.

I had this exact same problem and it ended up being the SSD overheating; the M.2 slot is right under the GPU so if the GPU is even a little loaded, it exhausts hot air over the drive and cooks it. In my case HWInfo64 showed the drive idling at 90C and spiking to 100+ when the GPU was under load.

got my 32c ES CPU finally running on an Asus KRPA U16 after flashing the BIOS via the SPI header, but was wondering if there is any way to modify FCLK on the KRPA U16. I plan to run 8x 3200MHz RAM sticks, so getting an FCLK higher than 800MHz would be awesome.

Anyone here who has allready done this on his board and could help me out?

WIth ZS17 and a custom supermicro bios you can get 2400/2400 sync, but the CPU can't really do higher in my experience.

with a -04 you can actually exceed 3200, I'm running 3400 1:1 (I think...?)

No experience with ASUS, just giving chip specific knowledge.
