@Spartus old Bios is not enough in this case( ASRock epycd8-2t). there is no "old" bios with both rome support and AGESA < 1.0.0.3.

how do i find out which version of old bios to mod?
UPD also after i tried to downgrade bios via IPMI now it does not show bios version at all.. Did i killed it somehow?
i cheched the bin file with HexEditor.
afaik the bios(cpu) has to be run once to update the bios rev.
for BIOS modding you might have to check other forum, sorry.

Ok i tried to search NaplesPi string with hexeditor and for even oldest version 1.10 i see NaplesPI-SP3 1.0.0.9. Meaning i'm out of luck with this board?
good news.
we checked for NaplesPi. but the AGESA needed is the RomePI of course ;)
BIOS 2.30 includes
AGESA!V9 NaplesPI-SP3 1.0.0.9
AGESA!V9 RomePI-SP3 1.0.0.0 <---
Note bios 2.30 Need 32MB BIOS ROM chip support.

Well thats good and bad news all in one ) v2.30 is what it had from the factory. Dr. Debug led does not light up at all. I expected at least 00.. Could it be RAM issue? Currently tried with 8gb 2rx8 pc4-2400t sticks.

if they are registered it should not the issue.
maybe the processor is bad, have you checked the socket pins ?
unsuitable power supply ?

unfortunaly the ASRock EPYC/ROME mboards have unknown Rome ES support today, maybe you have to put up with that it doesn't work. why did you just buy the EPYCD8? it has no PCIe 4 support. Supermicro/ASUS/Gigabyte are well supporter of your cpu.

Well i'll try another ram brand as my last hope, after that will just swap it with supermicro. I bought it for 10gb pci-e nic and its mini sas, currently using external 10gb nic and sas controller which occupies 2x pci-e slots. So with asrock i could use more GPU's.

the brand is not important, epyc supports only RDIMM memory.
please do not get me wrong. If you want to use up to 4 GPUs which are definitely not cheap, why didn't you buy a Rome QS, it doesn't have any compatibility problems.

@irgen since you aren't even getting a post code, that seems to either be a faulty PSU, dead board or dead cpu making the board not turn on.

What are the voltage sensors on the ipmi saying?

The other case that we had on here a while back went the RMA route.

IPMI reports PSU voltages are good, 1.0V CPU and CPU SOC 1.1V. CPU heats up so it is definitely got the power. I saw same case reported on another forum, DR Debug also did not show anything at all (with ryzen 3800x yes they have consumer boards with ipmi) the issue was ram incompatibility. So this DR Debug led is not that useful after all. Its pity to change the board, its features is so nice compared to h11ssl. But seems i have no choice atm.
@RolloZ170 i bought it bec. i found this thread ) GPU's now are crazy expensive (at lest in my area).. waiting for this mining fever to end

@irgen since the board appears to have VCore and VOSC where they are supposed to be, your issue is very likely BIOS, microcode and Firmware related or caused.

I know that one can decide to turn of the Postcode display on Asrack boards, maybe it is off by default on that board, which i find ****ing bonkers.

found no one that runs a EPYC Rome ES on ASRock boards, but dozens of EPYCD8 that was returned by customers for some reason...looks bad for me. i hope i am wrong.

Ok i got myself h11ssl v1.0.1, flashed with modded bios from main page of this thread. Used ipmi fro that.
UPD at last from 5th attempt got into the bios .. CPU info says cpu run at 1458 mv which i think is higher than expected? Or thats normal?
also what is disturbing IPMI is unable to read any sensors. It did show at least voltages before that

CPU-Z can not read voltages trustful. even not at zen2 desktop cpu. if you don't change anything its ok.
IPMI is made for prod.unit cpu, the ES registers may different.

I mean CPU info inside the BIOS. And ipmi before i flashed ExecutableFix 's bios did actually show CPU voltage , PSU voltage 12v and such but now its just show sensor not availabe

yes i did not touched ipmi firmware. should i upgrade that also, is that safe? )
yes, you still update to the latest for that board.
the h11ssl v1 and h11ssl v2 use the same IPMI firmware. latest rev. is

Firmware Revision:
R 1.52.0

i wish i could help more, but i have a h12ssl-i with a 7502 qs(100-000000054-04). sorry.
