I think I found AnandTech when they were around 4 years old. I was on there many times a day for years. If I recall, not too long after Anand sold it, I had an issue with my account and basically lost all my history. After that, I never spent a fraction of the time on that site. Over the years, it just dropped off to nearly never. Part of that was just getting older and having other things to do. Part of it was the change in the community after it was sold.

It was a great run and a great resource in it's day. STH, let's see if you can make it to 54 years at least!

I was a long time reader of Anandtech.

From the very beginning up to when Anand sold it in 2014 or so. (whenever that was)

At its height it was a great site, but for the last decade its has just been a shadow of its former self.

Its probably for the best that they finally put it out of its misery.

Used to be a great site. Proper in depth review/analysis of SSDs, SSD controllers, CPUs, GPUs.

Sadly it all went south when Anand sold the site to Purch, I think? The same company who bought Tom's Hardware Guide. Remember when it was called Tom's Hardware Guide and not just Toms Hardware? Certainly when Future bought both sites from Purch, the reviews went markedly downhill. I won't go as far as to say they were advertorials, but they certainly looked like manufacturers were paying to have their product reviewed.
