Just getting into serving my home.. picked up one of the (honorbox) specials with an i5-1135G7 and the 4xi225 nics.
Only one nvme m.2 slot on this board, so I would like to connect a 4 bay MediaSonic to it via usb, and then mount a share / expose that to a NextCloud instance (on linode or digital ocean) with the "dropbox" storage being used from the local rust raid.
Seems possible ya?
Will happily take any advice - here is what I am thinking:
- add 16gb ram and an m.2 nvme
- install Proxmox on device
- virtualize pfsense
- passthrough on the usb within promox
- what VM or Container needs to "receive" the passthrough to share it out to the 'web ???
- expose the vm with the share via pfsense, to my ISP router
- mount the mediasonic storage that proxmox is passing through / ports are allowing through as a share from within externally hosted Nextcloud
Sanity check on this? And can I bypass using a VM for the SMB share or can I just somehow send that share out via pfsense directly?
