Hi - I’m looking for help/guidance as the internet is full of ‘if I were you’, etc.

I own a Lenovo M90q Gen3 USFF PC. Brilliant machine, NVMe 4x4, DDR5 and so on. But it has one huge weakness and that’s in the graphics processing area. The integrated Intel CPU is simply not up to the job.

So the idea is to obtain a riser card specifically for the Gen3 as it has an unused PCIe x8 card slot and then ‘hook up’ the riser card to an eGPU most of which seem to operate with a thunderbolt 4 cable. The problem I’m having is finding the correct cable for the Gen3 riser card to thunderbolt. I’m receiving plenty of ‘well, it should work’ feedback.

Has anyone on the forum had experience of doing this sort of thing or could at least point me in the right direction. Any help/feedback would be appreciated.

Mods/Admins - if this is in the wrong area please would you move it - thank you
