I shouldn't really be buying any more RAM at the moment but... would you ship to the UK? What would the cost be? Appreciate I might end up paying customs and VAT on my end.

Only courier I know that will send to UK is UPS. Haven't used them before, but seems doable. A UPS standard package is around 25 euro to a pickup point.

bought the two 6248. got them some days ago, but just managed to test them (needed bios upgrade and some extra cooling on a ml350 gen10 i got from japan for a song despite vat etc.) the cpus work fine. flawless transaction. thanks K.

two 6248 with 36 threads on a ml350 gen10 are easily 30% faster (using avx512, 12 chan 2666V) than two 2690v4 (24 threads, 8 chan 2400T) on a ml350 gen9 on the cpu part of the code doing fp64s. the gen 10 has serious thermal problem and cannot run for long. with better cooling 40-50% gain seems possible. about 520 watts when 18 cores busy (avx512) when using gen10 and the 4 gpus (instinct mi50/60) are idle.

Thanks for the feedback. I do not have personnal experience with the cpu cooler max height of the ml350, so i apologize if i'm giving nonsense advice.

I have personally used the 6248 in a ESXi homeserver for a couple of years, on a Supermicro X11DPi-N MB cooled with Noctua NH-U12S DX-3647 and it has worked excellently even at heavy loads.
