Hello, I have downloaded and setup VDP 5.8 on my 5.5u2 ESXi box at home. I deployed the OVA and went through the OVA configuration. Once the VM is booted, I can connect to the console and it gives me the URL to connect to... https://192.168.172.50:8543/vdp-configure, but I've tried numerous times to connect with multiple web browsers (Chrome, Firefox, Safari) and cleared the cache, ran in incognito mode, etc. to no avail. I even tried to go back to the 5.5 appliance with the same issue. I have not had this problem with other deployments including the vSphere Replication Appliance or the Server Appliance.

I can login to the console as the root user, I can ping from other hosts both by ip address and hostname (vdp), I even ran nmap to make sure the port is open. Any ideas?

    Code:
    rubylaser-macbook-air:~rubylaser$ nmap -p 8543 vdp

    Starting Nmap 6.46 ( http://nmap.org ) at 2015-04-08 17:00 EDT
Nmap scan report for vdp (192.168.172.50)
    Host is up (0.0020s latency).
    PORT STATE SERVICE
    8543/tcp open unknown

Nmap done: 1 IP address (1 host up) scanned in 1.26 seconds

You said you had tried multiple browsers, but have you also tried internet explorer? This may sound stupid but I also have the same issue with my VDP.

Well since you haven't configured anything I would say delete from disk and redeploy might be the easiest thing to do.

Unfortunately, I have done this a few times with both 5.8 and 5.5. I'm always met with the same result. I'll try again and see if I browse the site first with IE if it works. Thanks again for the ideas.
