Great thanks. I just edited my posted with that actually.. good tip on the ES setting
I had mine (e5 2658 v3 QS) tested using the tool a couple of days ago. It failed first because default and the first setting was to check (SPBC, Sample Production Bit Checker). Once I disabled the feature, all other features were tested and passed. Good luck.

Thanks. Mine is the e5 2630L v3 QS.. so not far off. The seller I bought from wasn't a terribly big seller, so crossing my fingers. Board I'm using is ASRock Rack EPC612D4U

Also when installing the IPDT for the first time it asks you if you want to install SPBC. You have the option of skipping that install of the SPBC so you don't have to install it.
I'll be using the fedora version which is bundled into a full ISO .. so I don't think i'll have any option like that

What score do you get with your current 2600k setup? ES chips are usually lower than retail version. And, as you can see their hwinfo 64 window, the turbo will be 3.2 Ghz, not 3.5. I just set up two E5-2658 v3 QS (2.2 Ghz, 2.9 Ghz Turbo, 2.5 Ghz All Cores Turbo) with Supermicro X10-DRL-i motherboard. I measured the Cinebench R15 and I have 2850. My previous i5-3570k OC 4.4Ghz had 670 something.

Intel Xeon E5 2658 V3 QS QFSA SR1XV 2.2GHz 12Core Similar to QEYP Processor CPU | eBay
2600K @ 4.3GHZ benchmark with cinebenchR15 is 752

Intel Xeon E5-2667 v4 ES LGA2011-3 2.9GHz Compatible with X99 i7-6900K 6950X
this cpu got 560!!

This is exactly the thing i am scared of. Buying a xeon and find out my 2600K is faster.
I also considered buiding the infamous dual xeon 2670 V1 32 core but premiere pro and a lot of ohter software cant utilize that many cores, thats why i want a 8/10 core with enough horsepower to crush my 2600K.
I cant decide to go for 6800K or a xeon. I feel that i can have the same horsepower as a 6800k with an ES XEON for a fraction of the costs of it.

now the only question remaining is which one?

If you will be overclocking the 6800K then you should consider that. Alternatively the 6850K is also available if you participate in Retail Edge which gives you the 6850K for under $200 (excl shipping?).
retail edge? I don't work at any of those companies and the deal closed yesterday.

that would have been nice for only 200

"[/QUOTE]

yes i saw this one on ebay
whats the difference between the ES1 and the QK3G ES2?

Has anyone any positive or negative experience with the seller 'hwtrade-e' or 'globalkinginc' (which appears to have at least one other account named 'globalkingisbest' - inquired with the former, got a reply with a link to the later) on eBay?

I've been browsing around the v3 / v4 QS CPUs and it appears all / most of them come from only a handful of seemingly 'professional' sellers (in terms of their other and sold items) sources in Asia & 1 or 2 from the USA, but while some CPU models are available from several different or even all of these sellers at different prices, they all have the exact same screenshots of hwinfo / cpu-z.. which seems a bit.. odd.

Mine was purchased from hwtrade-e and it was good transaction. Two CPUs was shipped by DHL express from China and would be delivered to my house by next day if there wasn't any delay in custom and holiday season. I received them in 2 days and tested them out and worked fine so far. The seller sent me *actual* information (CPUZ and HWinfo's screenshot) of my CPUs via email shortly after shipped out. I was little shocked by getting delivery estimate (next day delivery from China? really?). I was so used to get items from China in 20-30 days on eBay purchase. =;)

I have a question for 2683V3.
I searched for it on Taobao.
I got two types of 2683v3 (OEM).
one is R2 stepping.
the other is M0 stepping.
They are all said to be Genuine OEM cpus.
Anyone who knows the difference of those two steppings? Thanks you.

2683 V3 production stepping is C1. If CPU-Z identifies it as a 2683 V3 without ES and it shows Stepping 2 it's a production processor. Do you have the CPU-Z pictures or HwInfo64 pictures?

but this shows R2

The multiplier CPU-Z shows is different.

Those are all production processors. One picture is showing the processor in idle the other probably when all cores are active (2.5Ghz is max turbo with all cores active) and the final one with 3Ghz is showing the multiplier when 1 or 2 cores are active only or under load.

Note the CPU-Z versions are different too that's why the stepping/revision is identified differently but those are all production even though CPU-Z shows M0 or R0 it's a C1 production processor.
I see. thx again!
I'm going to build a server: dual 2683v3 + X10DRI + 64GB Ram!

3.2 GHZ is single core max turbo right?
but what is the Intel Xeon E5-2667 V3 ES QEYA max turbo on all cores??
It may not, but it will be between 2.9 Ghz and 3.2 Ghz. Since it's only 300 Mhz, I don't see that it will be much different whether all cores run at 3.0, 3.1 or 3.2 Ghz.

Mine (2658 v3, 2.2Ghz Base/2.9Ghz Turbo has 2.5Ghz All Cores Turbo).

Maximum single turbo is 3.2Ghz on 1 or 2 cores. Since this is not a QS sample and an ES1 the max core turbo would likely be 3Ghz and perhaps 3.1Ghz with half the cores active.
thnx !! you have been very helpful!

This Cpu might be a great upgrade from my old 2600K
Although i might get a good deal on buying a 2nd hand E5-2690V3, that would be an awesome CPU

what about this one:
Intel Xeon Processor E5-4627 v3 QS CPU 2.6GHz 10-Core QH9E ES Similar to E5-2660 | eBay

it does not have hyperthreading but 10 real cores turbo's all on 3GHZ

a new 6800K is around 460 euro with 6 cores that can be overclocked to lets say 4.5GHZ, i think can match the e5-4627-v3 10 core @ 3GHZ
but costs 419 euro (shipping included)

another six core for 160 Euro seems a very good price
INTEL XEON E5-4655 v3 QS CPU 2.9GHz 6 Core 30Mb L3 Cache QH9F LGA2011-3 **LQQK** | eBay

then there still is the :
Intel Xeon E5-2667 V3 ES QEYA 8Core 2.9GHz 9.6GT/s 35M Smart Cache Processor CPU | eBay
that costs 296 euro but probably slower than the first three above.

AAARRG choices !!

yeah it is one of those untested processors. A risk yes but damn imagine you put it in and it works!!!
I don't believe that it will work. I saw some auctions saying "not tested". When I saw the bottom of the processors, some resistors damaged or missing. If the processor is working with missing resistors, I still won't put my daily data on it. For fun, maybe.

Alot of the time those "as-is" / "untested" processors aren't really a good deal because they often are defective or DOA. Even if it's missing capacitors or if it isn't I wouldn't consider it. I wouldn't risk it in my opinion.
yeah you are right. I just realized it myself. i mean.....Why couldn't they have tested it it. If they really know what kind of cpu they are dealing with( and i think they do) they made sure to test it out, because if they do work they can ask much higher prices. so yeah.... i think they do secretly know that they are defective. =)

Even processors pulled from working systems can be defective or DOA so there is never any guarantee that something will work even if it is used. If I see as-is or untested I usually don't consider it unless it is very affordable.

The 6800K will have the best single threaded performance out of all those processors due to the architecture and clock speeds. The other xeons will have superior multi-threaded performance aside from the 4655 V3 since it's a 6 core.
Thnx Nanotech!! your help is appreciated!
what do you think of the E5-4627 v3 10 core QS vs the e5-2667 ? do you think the 10core is worth the 100 euro more for premiere pro?
