Hi again to everyone.
I was using 2x V4 QHVD in Asus Z10PE-D8 for about 8 months, where one day (well, actually deep night) the system died with CATT_ERR lit on after every boot.
I was able to isolate it to secondary CPU (the damaged one, see my old posts), because the system was working fine with the "primary" CPU, but not with secondary CPU. I replaced the board, which did not helped and i was not able to boot with this CPU in both old or new board.
However, after getting another CPU, i encountered following issues:
- board stuck in early POST with B7 error (NVRAM reset) - resolved by swapping CPUs, removing RAM modules, swapping RAM modules (this error i also got when i was trying the damaged CPU in new board - but the old board did not had this issue, instead it was unable to boot, with CATT_ERR when system should load)
- board does not show any image after boot - removing both my nVidia cards helped - same thing happened on BIOS upgrade
It might be it is caused by RAM, so i will run Memtest on it, but, does anyone have similar experience?
I hope it will be fine, but i finished it today...
Also, in case i would like to try the CPU in single socket board, will MSI X99A SLI PLUS work?
It seems it is the cheapest one i can get and i seen in this thread that MSI Raider is working.
Will it work with normal DDR4 memory?
Get 2400MHz CL16 or CL17?
I would like to give it one more try, before i throw the CPU in a dark corner.
Thanks.
