Is GIGABYTE MS03CE0 also good for running Sapphire Rapids and Emerald Rapids ES CPUs? How about Gigabyte W790 AI Top?

i guess the Q0TU is your friend, step 5, runs on gigabyte C741 and W790 boards, light overclockable

Have you ever used the lga7529 platform? I got a motherboard and found that the BMC couldn't start independently after power-on. I'm not sure if it's because the new platform doesn't have a south bridge, resulting in new features, or if there's something wrong with the motherboard. The motherboard is from Supermicro.

Because I couldn't afford a CPU at the time, I wanted to check the condition of this motherboard. So, I powered on the motherboard without the CPU. The BMC's heartbeat light showed that it first turned green and then red, and then it would automatically cut off the power supply to the motherboard. I have recorded a video that I can send to you.

This is a picture of the motherboard. As shown in the picture, it looks like a completely standard motherboard, but with version 1.00

At the same time, after I connected the power supply, the BMC would immediately light up. It showed that it first turned green and then red, and then it would automatically cut off the power of the BMC (it seemed as if it was not powered on at all). This is a 12V motherboard.

I know that even the supermicro motherboards cannot boot ES, so I didn't purchase a CPU. I want to confirm whether the BMC cannot boot in the without a CPU is because it's supposed to be like that or if the motherboard is actually broken.

Before the 7529 model, all motherboards could boot the BMC even without a CPU. I encountered a motherboard without a south bridge for the first time, so I was very unsure.

I would like to ask you about your recommendations for motherboard:

• ASRock WS W790 R2.0 (500 eur in my country)
• Gigabyte MS33-AR0 (16 RDIMMS, 1100 eur)
• ASUS PRO WS W790E-SAGE SE(1200 eur)

For Gigabyte MS33-AR0 I could reuse 8x16=128GB (4400) I already own and expand it to 256GB in the future.
On the other hand ASRock price is really tempting - I could use (partially) the price difference for some other ugrades, eg. replace the memory stick to 8x32GB with higher clocks (eg. 6000) which I guess would be beneficial for AI inferencing workloads.

What's your opinion?

ASRock WS W790 R2.0 only 4 ram channel not recommend
Gigabyte MS33-AR0 max cpu tdp 450w I conducted the test myself. It wasn't due to the BIOS restrictions but was caused by the physical limitation of the maximum current of the MOS transistor. but 16 slots

However, QYFS is a step 3 CPU. Personally, I don't recommend using it directly. There is a possibility that it might trigger unknown bugs, resulting in a very poor user experience. I recommend using Q03k instead.

This CPU is been tested under both MS33 and MS03, as well as MS73. The maximum performance it can achieve under C741 chipset is via MS33/MS73 with maximum performance BIOS preset(Cinebench 80000+; CPU-Z 45000+). W790 may be able to overclock however that is not 100% certain. The same BIOS preset on MS03 series(both CE0 and 6L0) is also allows the extreme high power consumption, however the Cinebench performance on this two board is far more worse compare with MS73/MS33, even with the mos heatsink modified.

MS33-AR0 D18 ver. BIOS could work with the QYPF(SPR-HBM A0), few of the truth in the release log is "SPR-HBM A0 stepping will no longer support [Feature] SPR HBM A stepping is no longer supported from this BIOS version." and the microcode list. ; D
