knwon working motherboard and CPU ?

what should happen other than it works ? you can update if not work and do further throubleshooting.

this is done by BIOS POST, no POST = no data
Thank you for your reply! I purchased the motherboard and CPU from different sellers, and both of them are tested and confirmed they were working.

I downloaded BIOS version 1.00 for the SPC621D8U-2T motherboard, which is the initial release. I used the MCExtractor tool (GitHub - platomav/MCExtractor: Intel, AMD, VIA & Freescale Microcode Extraction Tool) to analyze the 1.00 BIOS, and it shows the SPS version is 4.4.4.53.

I then tried downgrading the BIOS to version 1.00 via the BMC, and the BMC reported that the BIOS was flashed successfully. After that, I unplugged the power and waited for 30 seconds before plugging it back in. Unfortunately, the SPS version still shows as 4.4.4.202, and the system won't boot. Does this mean there is some mechanism preventing SPS from being downgraded? Are there any other methods I could try? Thanks again!

I have an AsRock Rack SPC621D8U-2T motherboard and a QWAT CPU

ok. if you got a real QWAT (it is printed on it right?) it should work.
even if i say "if you want to run ES avoid Supermicro" QWAT runs on Supermicro.
1) does the FAN spins after you press the power btn ?
2) do you use standard Cooler and Torque-screwdriver ? (0.9Nm click) or turn the four T30 crosswise(only 360 degree each stroke) until they not turn ?
3) remove CPU and check socket pins. provide a Picture ?

I agree, I have actually tested and found that Qwat and qwas can run perfectly on the Supermicro X12 motherboard.

Yes, it's a real one with QWAT printed on it, and the fan spins after I press the power btn. But - I installed the CPU using a regular T30 screwdriver without torque control, which may have been a big mistake. I've now purchased the proper tool, and I hope reinstalling the CPU will solve the issue. I'll follow up later, thank you for your kind help!

you need a torque-screwdriver once, after that i guessyoue feel how much you can turn&where is the end.
some are not brave enough and the CPU is not properly pressed into the socket, same at LGA4677/4710/7529 socket.

I got my first torque-screwdriver only when I got SP5 system. It took me 3-4 attempts to get the feeling right for LGA4677, but it is basically, as I think you said to me once, just "finger tight" - basically tighten it until the force required starts to grow fast, and that is about the correct torque.

I reinstalled the CPU using a torque screwdriver, and the system booted successfully! The issue was indeed caused by improper installation. In addition, I re-flashed the official BIOS for the SPC621D8U-2T motherboard (version P1.20), and the system still booted correctly, confirming that the QWAT CPU is still supported.

Thank you again for your help!

work with any BIOS.
work with BIOS up to R16/R17 (depends on mobo model)
please do proper CPU install. press pwr-btn (flashing LED is the BMC who is running with standby power(PSU switched on)

thanks @RolloZ170 for the quick reply, BMC is flashing and I am able to access the BMC UI; do you suspect the CPU isn't seated properly? I am using a single 1000w PSU both primary and aux CPU power is connected.

sure you can access the BMC with system powered OFF (just PSU switched on)
have you pressed the power button ?
do you suspect the CPU isn't seated properly?
was often the issue, some are not brave enough.
have you used a 0.9Nm torque screwdriver ?

yes no error codes though CPU is detected

>have you pressed the power button ?
yes, it spins the fans for a few seconds and then shutsdown

>do you used a torque screwdriver ?
I did not, the cooler i have makes it difficult to use my torque screwdriver [let me see if I can try some other workarounds]

what cooler ? they should have T30 torx.
turn the four nuts crosswise but only 360 degree per stroke until the force increases(better use a torque screwdriver 0.9Nm first time)
you risk a burn out of the socket contacts if cpu is not properly pressed into.

@RolloZ170 I torqued it to 0.9Nm, still no POST. The BMC is showing Intel(R) Xeon(R) Silver 4416+ instead of 8480 ES, additionally. I am seeing DIMMs populating even though I only have 1 dimm at P0_A0 plugged in. The Motherboard was purchased brand new.1764370338647.png1764370384011.png

the board was tested with that hardware, this inventory will change after successfull POST. no POST = old data.
