What mod needs to make on Gigabyte MS73 to run 8475B QS (350w)?

How stable and compatible is platinum 8452Y (q17y)?

Hi Folks!

I'm trying to decide between a MS03-CE0 at CAD $1070 ($790 USD) or a Asus Pro WS WS790-ACE for $1180 ($875 USD) with a D0 8480+. Any tips to consider?

MS03 is more designed specifically for it while the WS790 has more consumer friendly features like sound, 10 Gbps, USB 3.2 Gen2 etc. From a future proofing point of view - what do you think is the best option?

note that Asus Pro WS WS790-ACE supports only 4 mem.channels.(2DPC) but XMP.
edit: MS03 supports already 5th gen scalable EMR(Emerald Rapids) W790 Ace will never do,

...but the 8475B QS OEM can have higher TDC like happen with the 2nd gen OEMs...
I've seen (articles dated nearly a year ago) here and here 8475B are made for Alibaba cloud used in ECS g8i offerings, presumably having QAT, DSA and IAA accelerators (no mentions of DLB)
Had a chat with ebay sellers to get it for an affordable price to homeuser but with no much of luck (although they already do go at around $1.5K+Tax a piece by now), therefore still can't get those for tests despite having dual-cpu board and x16 RDIMMs ready.
But there already are various compute research/benchmark articles for scientific purposes having references to platform specification having this CPU at core (and we can reasonably assume tests were simply done in Alibaba cloud).
Also Wikipedia says here Sapphire Rapids - Wikipedia
it's 350W (not higher like with 8488C = 385W) but I'm not sure how reliable this info is.

Seems to be some ES QYFP D0 available that look like it. But they are at 1.5 Ghz base clock however

Thanks - I think I'll go with the MS03. Worth the 3 week wait - they are BO. Are air cooler sufficient for these beasts? In Canada it's hard to find some AIO LGA 4677 liquid coolers.

one ebay seller showed a screenshot of a single QYFP on asus w790 getting only around 17000 pts in Cinebench R23
At least a sort of proof that i can work. But that score was dissapointing performance wise.
Another seller has two QYFQ (that seem similar to QYFO), so 2x48=96 cores, 192 treads a to get around 52000 pts. (Intel Xeon Platinum 8468 ES Server CPU lga4677 48c/96t For Gigabyte ms73-hb1 | eBay).
Those scores seem pretty disappointing to me since i get around 16000 with an 13600T with 24 threads.

Based on those scores, the QYFU or 8461V seems more interesting for a single socket board.
Some sellers are posting scores of around 52000 CB R23. and prices around 230 USD.

So i was considering that QYFU+ASUS W790 Combo for about 1000 Euro, being a pretty good bang for the buck.
But i am having doubts about air cooling 300W, compatibility and stability, since this would be my main computer for work.

Anyone having experience with the QYFU and or the Asus w790-ace or SAGE and D0 stepping?
Some people say that they are not compatible with non-W Xeons, memory issues?
I saw screenshots but who knows maybe pcie and m.2 are not working? Any one with experience on this?

working (but only stepping D0 - cpuid 806F3)
on SAGE you need 112L CPU to support all PCIe lots and 2x M.2 PCIe from CPU. even if you run W?24xx(64 lanes) lacks full config, refer the manual for this.

QYFP ASUS W790-Ace ( 49000pts @109mhz BCLK)

I saw similar scores, but my question is is that really on a single socket board?
Becouse i see some sellers that post similar scores But they have a dual socket board with 2x48=96 cores, 192 threads, and then only run cinebench with half of them (you can change that in the settings). Since then, half of the cpu's are idling, the others clock way higher. That would not be representative for single board performance.
See for example here: Intel Xeon Platinum 48-core 96-threads LGA4677 Sapphire Rapids QYFP (same QYFQ) | eBay
He has a score of around 47000 but in other screenshots its possible to see that he is running it on a dual-socket system.
At least this is how i understand it, maybe i am missing something.
EDIT (after your edit)
If those screenshots are your own, also the score on the single sockets is very good, and the world makes sense again.
Thanks. That was one important thing clarified.

Thanks, Are you using that Noctua? Because its is also the best i found so far, but some how Noctua is refusing to write any TDP ratings. So i was doubting, and trying to figure out if it is only compatible with the socket 4677 or can also really handle 300W.
