Thank for your reply. Maybe you can give me some hint on how to proceed to get a hard drive working with this CPU?

I had a closer look at the dmesg and lshw outputs, which I attached.
Lspci indicates that I have SATA connections on PCI IDs 03:00.0-1 and c6:00.0-1

For the c6:00 slot the dmesg output says that "8/8 ports implemented" (at the top in the screenshot), for 03:00.0-1 it says "1/1 ports implemented".

Having a look at the Mainboard (H13SSL) layout in the documentation, I cannot figure out which PCI connection the one at 03:00.0-1 with a single port could be. But for the c6:00.0-1 PCI connection this somewhat resembles the third MCIOx8 slot of the mainboard's P0 group, which has an alternative designation as SATA[00:07], which sounds somewhat similar to the "8/8 ports implemented" dmesg line.
But I have no clue if I am misinterpreting something here. Maybe a more experienced user can help me?
Would it make sense to get an MCIOx8---SATAx8 cable in order to try if these drives can be found by the system? Or am I completely lost with my interpretation?
I'll be glad about whichever hint I may get here.
Thanks!

I also attached the lshw output for c6:00, but I don't see any helpful information there. I might just miss it...

Thank you for your replies. It took some time for me to continue on that project.

So now I finally got the "MCIO to 8x SATA" cable, but it did not work for me. I cannot prove that the cable is undamaged, and I did not test all 8 SATA slots, but so far I did not manage to make it work. No SATA hard drive shows up in BIOS nor in Linux /dev.
I also set the motherboard jumper JSATA to explicitly SATA mode. The dmesg output (attached in my previous post) still indicates that there are some SATA ports detected, but I just don't know which ones they're supposed to be. They might not be accessible after all, as RolloZ pointed out.

But maybe some very specific BIOS settings can do the trick? I had already tested explicitly setting PCI modes to SATA explicitly without success. The SATA drive that I am using for tests is quite old (but still OK), maybe this requires some tweaking?

I'll gladly accept any further advice that you may have...

Which mainboard are you using?

I didn't find a solution unfortunately. But I wonder if the CPU is geared towards one of the 8-DIMM-Mainboards and the PCI lanes layout would support a hard drive one one of them.

check BERGAMOD8-2L2T, this board codes not provide any Sata.
have seen Bergamo has no Sata but thought it was a Ai joke.
