    Ssds are already outnumbering hdds in capacity, Samsung has 30tb 2.5" sas ssds.

    SSDs have already eclipsed HDD at density, but normally at 10x the cost. For lukewarm storage HDD still makes sense.

    This amazed me a bit:
    Seagate 1.6TB Nytro 3730 Series 10 DWPD.
    It has 5 year warranty, which translates to roughly 29.2 PB written.
    16TB pr.day for 5 years

    Dual port SAS needs just a regular SAS adapter to connect a single port to a single host, after that I don’t know if there is a kind of matrix of supported equipment as I always got the vendor to handle that.
