ssd are less affected, and Ai don't need Gen4 QLC crap.
In Store Pickup Only = two or three in stock from customer returns ?
Sure...but...what it means is that nobody's buying this crap at these prices.

p.s. Microcenter does "store pickup only" for lots of things. They want that foot traffic... It may/may not mean anything. I still wouldn't buy it at this price, this was like $150 a year ago.

Don't think so (despite yesterday's market movement). For that hyperscalers and AI companies would have to cancel their orders, that would make news. SSD manufacturers are reporting multi year contracts. So right now the AI demand appears locked in to me.

I watch ebay closely and auctions are now settling at absurd levels. Recent examples:

4x PM1643a 7.68TB $2850 - eg $712 per drive

Intel P4510 8TB $1025

Micron 9300 3.84TB $410

Samsung pm9a3 7.68 TB $750

Apart from the last one this is all fairly old flash.

[edit] corrected links as ebay redirected me away from the original auction

I know...my ancient Sandisk Fusion IO cards don't seem all that ancient (or useless) anymore. Especially since the drivers got ported to Linux (and they still work). The cards are getting a workout in my Truenas servers!

I mean...6.4TB flash bought for $125/ea...I'm sure the seller is kinda regretting it now...

Where'd you get 6.4s for $125ea? I have a ton of 3.2s lying around, only a few in use right now. I also have a bucket of 1.2TB ioDrive IIs.

Such a great product, really loved working for Fusion-io, sad WD killed the products.

Probably… 4-5 years ago On eBay? Someone really wanted them gone, and I bought like 8x of them.
