Samsung 15.36TB SSD PM1633a SAS 12G Eur 750

IBM but seller confirmed formatted to 512b. Posting here to prevent myself from buying it!

[edit] actually looking again at the smartctl extract the seller sent, it shows " SMART Health Status: CONTROLLER IMPENDING FAILURE DATA ERROR RATE TOO HIGH [asc=5d, ascq=22] " which I am not sure what it means, but sounds a little bit concerning.

3.84TB Exascend SI4 2.5” SATA SSD €170 [Kleinanzeigen]
Model number: EXSI4A3840GBZD01
Datasheet

Seller had a listing the other day for one identical and I asked how many they had. They said 3 so maybe they have 2 left now.

I was curious about PLP as the datasheet only states that it is present in certain conditions, so I emailed the manufacturer. They confirmed that it has hardware PLP.

Was really going to buy them but looking at my shelf with unused SSDs, I just have to be realistic and pass this time..

EDIT: Updated URL that was wrong

I don't have any response to those questions but it is a reputable seller.
I don't question you or the Seller, it was just a word of caution since there is much we don't know about the Drive ;) .

Maybe it will live 10 extra Years and 10 PB of Writes. Maybe it will live only 100 Days.

So did ServerPartDeals sell you a fake 7.68TB drive which ended up being 960GB?!
That auction link is indeed from their official account; it's a legit business with high rating and functioning support org.

The drive is a bit different from their photo; but i'm mostly confused why they would go this when they provide 3 year warranty etc?
Could be a genuine mistake on their part, but unlikely, since they cite how many writes and health data.

In any case, i'd expect them to refund with apologies. Keep us posted.

I reached out to them via ebay. They said that the drive is indeed 7.68TB. That the sticker that says 960GB is incorrect and was applied by a vendor prior to them (SPD) receiving the unit. Sounds like they knew about the sticker mixup.

SMART stats seem to match that of a 7.68TB,
Code:
=== START OF INFORMATION SECTION ===
Vendor: SAMSUNG
Product: PA33N7T6 EMC7680
Revision: EQHE
Compliance: SPC-4
User Capacity: 7,680,475,267,072 bytes [7.68 TB]
Logical block size: 512 bytes
Physical block size: 4096 bytes
LU is resource provisioned, LBPRZ=1
Rotation Rate: Solid State Device
Running f3write/f3read on it now to verify it is 7.68TB. So far it seems like SPD is right and that the drive is legit!

Though these are samsung pm1633a, so you need to check you have an up to date firmware version. How many power on hours is it showing? (32k hour bug).

Anyone checked these out? Micron 7450 Pro U.3 7.68TB with >-= 97% life each for $750 each (3 available). Listing location is in Sunnyvale, seller has good ratings. If I didn't already more than enough storage I'd be game: Facebook
