they're coming for our 401k plans
Maybe not so fast. Standard and Poors (who control the S&P Index makeup) have already declined SpaceX's request for an "accelerated" inclusion in the index. Nasdaq is sort of flip flopping right now.

As far as OpenAI and/or Anthropic is concerned, I doubt they'll get added to the indexes relatively quickly. As a "public" company, they have to show a certain number of quarters of consistency and performance, before even being considered. And given the storm cloud gathering over the AI landscape, a few quarters may be enough to prick these absurd valuations.

And the current headlines won't be helping in that respect: "OpenAI Considers Drastic Price Cuts, Anticipating War for Users With Anthropic", "SoftBank Attempt to Get $6 Billion OpenAI Margin Loan Stalls"

The bigger they are the harder they fall. A crash would take a fair number of eBay sellers with them also. Good riddance.

$49 OBO + US S/H Advantech M.2 480GB Internal SSD - SQF-CM8V4-480G

Pardon the interruption...

Extended temperature industrial 2280 M2 SSD PCIe Gen 3 with heatsink- I wonder how low they would go. My offer at 35 each for 4 was rejected.

Heres a link to the PDF datasheets, its in the first entry "User Manual for SQFlash 920 Series"

The listing picture serial corresponds to "SQF 920 NVMe M.2 2280 SSD (OPAL) 480G 3D TLC (BiCS3) (-40~85°C)"
I bought 4 of these at $45 each. They arrived today. They look brand new, no dust or wear or tear. I removed the heat sink on one and the thermal pads look clean as well.

All at 100% life, no partitions on them and no data written. All less than 20 power on cycles and single digit power on hours.

It’s possible SMART data was reset but I’d guess they are new old stock or unused spare parts.

Mine has just arrived in Jacksonville Florida for the 3rd time. PO idiots keep send it south when it should be going north. it's Gone from Jax to Opalaka to Jax, then to Ybor and now it's back in Jax. I suppose I should expect this kind of insanity from Florida but it still pisses me off.

The drives shows no data written. Was the smart data wiped out?

So here it is, Monday and mine finally made it to the local PO. Jacksonville sent it south into Fla 3 times and 3 times it returned to Jax. Now finally USPS has decided to send it to me. Only a gubmint entity can get away with such incompetence.
