Nice! I really like the Define 7 series. Have a non-XL myself but migrating to all rack mount so it's being decommissioned soon. But great chassis if you want to build servers in tower form factor. 100 % agree on SATA being really good for heat control. I have probably 30 ish 960GB ones in my other systems. But now I wish those were 7.68TB ones... :p Don't have any flash based storage that's bigger than 3.84TB...yet...

Also,just got this on eBay:

Made me chuckle... :D

yes me too, but it's already shipped so im kind of confused
same. One shipped and refunded, the other not shipped.

if I had to guess, the intern was told to cancel and refund all the mispriced orders without checking whether they have been shipped. So this is likely to become free drives, not sure you can reverse a refund.

are you sure they didn't just auto-create the label? that seems to occur with some sellers now

as long as it shows movement\tracking fingers crossed they don't recall :D

Mine is already with fedex, not just a label

Actually can they recall a shipment in flight? I have seen amazon do it.

Any Idea how long the huge SSD/DRAM Prices are expected to last ?

Or put another Way, when are we expecting the AI Bubble to burst and buy all DRAM for cheap  ?

Kinda with what happened with Mining & Graphic Cards basically ...

Same here. My order just got refunded today, but was shipped out yesterday and is still scheduled to be delivered tomorrow. I'm assuming that it'll get recalled considering that they relisted it for $744 instead of the $79 that I'd paid.

Anyone using a shipping forwarder, remember to modify your booking with the updated invoice. In the unlikely chance that the package is delivered, it would be very sad if you paid VAT on free drives.

IANAL, but I think the seller would also be within their rights to provide a shipping label and request the return of the goods. 39 USC § 3009 doesn't apply here because the merchandise is not unsolicited.

I am only in the market for 7.68TB+ (SATA/NVMe) and 15.36TB+ (SAS) drives, at the right price. And purely for the fun of it to be honest. Have just finished assembling a 300TB all flash NAS (all 7.68TB SATA for power considerations) at home.
This winter I retired my all flash Green Hornet NAS, raided my Skiff fund and moved to larger drives.
I might have some 7.68's available and it will depend on what you view as right price. I have not made up my mind to sell them and trying to think of a practical use for them. If you are interested PM me and maybe that will help me make up my mind.

This thing will die of natural causes before I fill it.
I am more likely to die before I fill mine. I think I have at least 10 years of growth even if the growth size accelerates.
FWIW large Solidigms are trickling out of various evaluation/test lab shops now. Price per TB is probably in line with or better than your right price per TB for 7.68TB's. that said its still very much a large chunk of change for one drive let alone a 6-8 drive pool.

Yep, 2 hours ago mine was also canceled.. But like for some other of you my package is already halfway across the states. It’s in Memphis, TN now according to FedEx. This will be exiting to see how they handle it. Mine is going to Jetcarrier in Newark, DE so they have time I guess to turn it around. I wonder though if that’s a plausible outcome and if FedEx is that easy to deal with for the sender…

But I’d be most interested to know what legal rights they have to claim that it needs to be returned if it manage to get delivered? Any US forum member that has knowledge?

thanks for offering, but I am a bottom feeder for SSDs, so you are better off selling them on ebay, you will get a better price than I am willing to pay. I bought a lot of 7.68TB SATA drives around $425 this month. But at those prices, the listings were gone within seconds of me completing my order, wouldn't have had time to share them here. I don't really need to expand my storage, it is just that little devil sitting on my shoulder and whispering all sort of bad ideas in my ear, that compels me to buy more SSDs if there is a port I can possibly plug them into. But doesn't make sense to do that at market prices, particularly current market prices.

IANAL, but I think the seller would also be within their rights to provide a shipping label and request the return of the goods. 39 USC § 3009 doesn't apply here because the merchandise is not unsolicited.
According to chat gpt (on which I rely for legal advice!), this is grey area, potentially enforceable in court (case of a "clear" pricing mistake). Though my view is that it would cost them more than the amount of the order just to pay for the time for a lawyer to hear what their issue is.

If it's not the item IMO that's some next level fraud.

Nope, but I’m your sweet brother to the east. ;)

Agree on the declaring problem, or what it will be. Might be worth reaching out to Jetcarrier to get their take on it.

If you do get the items for free, is it worth the risk to not pay for VAT? I think it's largely theoretical at this stage. My money is on the parcels being recalled.

I believe Micron has said 2028 at the earliest

They have no incentives to do that sooner I guess, after getting plenty of State/Federal Funds, just to throw everybody under the Bus (including but not limited to what happened with Crucial).

I guess the Date is more tied to Politics rather than actual Supply/Demand :p .

ok you want to hear a good joke? The first order I placed with them got refunded even though it was shipped. The second order was pending shipping (not cancelled or refunded) and is now just marked as shipped with a tracking number!
