Doesn't seem to have such a high endurance, based on specs. 9.6PB is only 1.6 DWPD, which is below most write intensive SSDs (typically 3DWPD). The drives I am selling on ebay now are 10DWPD. The old intel AIC cards go to 40DWPD.

"only" 9.6 PB of endurance and 1.6 DWP :p.

I think I can live with that as long as it's cheap & reliable :D.

Drivers there seems to be a forked Driver working with Kernel 5.3 / 5.4 but don't know the Status for Linux 6.8/6.12/etc.
I think they're working with at least 6.10, maybe it's 6.12 (I have been several versions on my new server when I get time) and with some patches up to 6.16 (I haven't checked lately to see if anyone has published those, I may need to submit my patches.) I also haven't gotten it working with DKMS, though I didn't try very hard.

So you just do it manually e.g. ./configure and make Commands ?

I gave up on Windows more than 5 Years ago so that's unfortunately not relevant for me :) .

Have the right Hardware, as in ... having a Lenovo Workstation to flash a Lenovo branded NVMe, a Dell Workstatio to flash a Dell branded NVMe, etc ? Or what exactly do yo mean ?

Thanks for clarifying :).
I wanted to say that you need the right driver for Linux and to build it or configure it. So, if you are not a Linux guy it can be complicated. Otherwise under windows you just install the driver and it should work. Yes, the sx350 Sandisk Fusion has great endurance, there is also the 6.4 tb version

I also bought 2 or 3 of 3.2 tb Fusion sx350 . I don't really use them for now. If somebody interested to buy contact me private!

Anyone know the power consumption on the Sandisk Sx350 series. I can’t seem to find anything on that. Just wondering if they are heaters like most other PCIe storage of that generation.

I haven't done any precise measurements but they're probably 10W idle or so, and will happily use the entire 25W PCIe slot power budget under load (some models have an aux power connector to use even more power.) They definitely require direct fan cooling.

Thanks. That answers the question nicely! My dream of low power AND (relatively) low price in a 3+ TB drive remains unfulfilled. :p

Personally I don't mind a bit of power draw, but achieving domestic bliss and WAF require me to my "computer junk" (wife and kid's term) in my home office. So, I'm trying to avoid stuff that requires too much active heat dissipation.

That probably rules out most NVMe Drives, surely U.2 and PCIe, leaving possible M.2 up to the Game (assuming they will do ASPM).

So you are left with SATA and SAS, out of which SATA is much better in Terms of Power Consumption, but also quite a bit more expensive in the 2nd Hand Market (around twice the Price as SAS/NVMe ?).

They aren't that difficult to cool, I have a 6.4TB model that's usually pretty lightly-loaded which just has an 80mm Noctua sitting next to it, blowing sideways across the card (and my NIC,) that been enough. Last I looked there are a few of those model on ebay that you could probably get for around $200 each if you make an offer on more than one.

That's actually quite a good Deal on 6.4TB.

I paid approx. 100 USD / Piece for 3.2 - 4.0 TB NVMe Drives lately (if you exclude the P4608 6.4TB that I got for around 142 EUR / Piece including VAT & Shipping), so it seems to scale up quite nicely :) .

Please be careful though, some of the Links I posted previously are for SX300, one (at least) was for SX350. We shouldn't throw them all in the same Class, as the SX350 seems to have much better Performance.

EDIT 1: It seems the 6.4TB SX350 is ONLY available in Low Profile Version

That's kind of a Bummer for those looking to install these in a 2U Chassis :( .

Perfectly fine in a Desktop Chassis though with some Fan cooling it from the Side I would say though, as @nexox said :).

You can buy the high profile bracket. If I remember correctly it is the same high profile bracket as for lsi sas 9300 16i

And yes, the SX350 are better than sx300. You need to put a fan to cool them, otherwise the system will shutdown

Sorry, I meant that it's only available in HIGH Profile Version (the 6.4 TB Variant).

You CANNOT buy it in Low Profile Version, you'd have to chop half the Card up if you wanted to install it in a 2U Chassis (Low Profile only) and at that Point it wouldn't work anymore.

You are right! For low profile you need the 3.2 tb version
