When you updated the BIOS, did you also update the CPLD and/or PIC? I'm guessing you never made it to the PIC, because that would require a reboot-- presumably with the wrong BIOS as primary.

Yeah I updated the bios, cpld and pic after which the GE1 and ge2 became on always

Restoring the primary BIOS is doable. However, if the CPLD and PIC images are different for the 610 (very likely), then you've pretty much reached a dead end. You've hit a proprietary wall. Time to work on something else.
