4cpu 40 cores 80 threads wattage monster: 3000 cinemarks.
2cpu 2670 16 cores 32 threads: ~2100+ cinemarks.
The Ryzen 1700-1800x 8 cores 16 threads 1600-1750 cinemarks.

It's like comparing cores to 486DX vs. AMD 1400 Athlon TB. Goes nice to haves when typing 'top' on linux.

With 64x4GB DIMMS you'll prolly end up losing speed (if not mistaken)

But the actual system is cheap.
Power is a consideration for sure but if only running when used and not 24x7 all good.

I'm hoping this will be able to hold more than 8x1tb? Preferably 8x2tb or 8x4tb. Anyone have thoughts?

Finally received the server today. It looked great, with extremely nice packaging. The huge problem is that it only has 8GB ram out of the 256GB promised. The funny thing is that shipping was delayed due to memory shortage. Contacted the seller.

yeah, it' stupid that the guy is selling these without the complete server on hand. I had to wait an extra week for the rest of my memory.
