The simple answer is WD have basically no SMRs in externals (3.5") as far as anyone has ever found. They do have SMRs in portables (2.5") e.g. WD My Passport 5TB DAS Review: Compact and Consistent Capacity Champ Gets SMR Right but that's about it. It's possible their 18-20TB SMR drives will eventually show up in externals so maybe take some care with those.
Indeed . And $199 for 14TB in December 2019. That's $14.21/TB . I believe that is the best price seen so far.For reference Easyshucks 12TBs were 179.99 Around 6 mos ago.
