Anyone have a list or know what V4 steppings/Spec codes one should avoid? I'm mostly interest in 12, 14 and 16 core CPUs. I know some have those weird steppings Like L0 for example. I'd assume L0 is more like A0?
A0 and A1 are very early engineering sample steppings which could have silicon level bugs.Sorry for reviving thread this old, but right now I'm looking for v4 cpu as I got ml350 g9 for very cheap.
Why are these steppings thing to avoid?
Thanks. Do I need screenshot from hwinfo to get it, or I can decode it from sSpec number?A0 and A1 are very early engineering sample steppings which could have silicon level bugs.
sSpec won't always work if said sSpec hasn't been documented.Thanks. Do I need screenshot from hwinfo to get it, or I can decode it from sSpec number?
Does it mean that it could be unstable under default settings? Or it's related mainly to the overclocking potential?A0 and A1 are very early engineering sample steppings which could have silicon level bugs.
Both.Does it mean that it could be unstable under default settings? Or it's related mainly to the overclocking potential?
there are many many BUGs even in the prod.units which are corrected in microcode updates.Does it mean that it could be unstable under default settings?
there is no unlocked E5 V4, means they are not overclockable.Or it's related mainly to the overclocking potential?
