Intel Xeon E5-1650 V4 (SR2P7) 3.60GHz CPU | Certified Genuine | eBay

The price is low enough to swap out the "Confidential" E5-2667v4 in my firewall for one of these. Curious how the higher base clock (3.6GHz vs 2.1GHz) but fewer cores (6 vs 8) will affect overall performance across four 10 GigE interfaces.

There are two processors are no pro left at $197. To put this in context: E5-1660v4 listings are around $500 from U.S. sellers, and an E5-1680v4 just sold for over $800. If you can live with two fewer cores and commensurate L3 cache decrease, these might work for you at less than half the price.

EDIT: All processors have sold. Congratulations to all those who snagged a great deal!

Another seller has 4 @ $200/per, but it's interesting to me that of the 9 of these CPU available for $200 or less, 8 of them are in Pennsylvania!

Agreed. I wonder if CMU/Pitt/Penn used that model for a CS/EE lab or project, dumped them at auction (remember, institutions view enterprise hardware as scrap metal and monthly power costs!) and we are now seeing them on the open market. At any rate, it is a very reasonable upgrade if someone intends to stick with Broadwell-EP.

Speaking of which, prospective buyers should be cautious about this listing: Intel Xeon DEMO E5-1680 v4 ES QK3P M0 3.5GHz~4.1GHz 8C LGA2011-3 C612 X99 - READ | eBay

Listed as an E5-1680v4 ES, but I am 99% certain QK3P is a Broadwell-E (i7-6900K?) part.

Not that it makes a difference, but the seller kindly responded that these particular E5 processors were from Arkansas - recovered/recycled from HP workstations. Nothing particular about Pennsylvania in this case, @cw823 :)

Got an E5-1630 v4 (need the single core performance) for $150 today on OBO. Maybe around $120-$130 would have been a good deal.
