i faced with a problem of choosing mainboard for e5-1630v3 to use with p3700 2.5" ssd
supermicro seem to can't offer anything for this.
i looked into intel's site and also can't find some single-head m/b

i understand they want me to use ssd with such a high iop's on multi-cpu system only.
but what if i don't need them. i want the best single-thread perfomance. and that's the e5-1600v3 series

so far the only solution i've found is asus Z10PA-U8 plus their Hyper Kit adapter (M.2 to mini SAS HD)

any other solution?

also, can i see at least one Intel's board for their e5-16xx v3 cpu?
can't find none :(

yes, ~$20 for asus Hyper Kit is acceptable, but there's still unknown what mainboard with M.2 to choose.
so far i only have that asus board in my bookmarks.
but would like it from someone like supermicro, intel...

and another question is the cable.
i'm not going to buy $400 intel 750 only for the cable :)
how then i will use that 750 if i took the cable for p3700?

Sell the 750 bare drive on ebay?

It's kind of stupid the Hyper Kit doesn't come with a cable, I just double-checked mine to make sure... LOL, was getting my hopes up.

so then the buyer should buy another one 750 kit for the cable and hate you? :)
that's not good

Uhm, if you buy a 750 and sell it without the cable I'll buy the 750 for $100 less. Just PM me.
People on ebay will buy without cable too, that's why I suggested it.

You're going to use a 2TB (insane retail price) drive, and are worried about selling a $375 drive?

I guess I don't get that logic and concern there.

1 or 2 places have the cables now, the place NEO suggested was getting them in stock.

Sorry, I replied based on the e-mail where you said "p3700 2tb too hot" thing it was yours, my bad.

Either way, it's NOT a 25 cent or 25$ cable for that matter... so yeah, you need to buy and sell or order more in bulk, or buy from a retailer NEO suggested for way more than you'd imagine :( right now. Or do the Intel thing, SM backplane, etc...

I would say if some of the projects we're doing take off I'll need more, and we could do a bulk order again, but in such a case I'd just get NVME chassis as that's way easier and not much additional considering adapters and cables cost.

If you want an AOC NVME Card + Cable I could sell 1 cable & 1 card if you really need it. PM me.
(I will not sell the cable alone -- just paid for the extras) $150 including cable

I'm short 2 cables still (even after @neo hooked me up with 2 more) to get all drives going at once ;) LOL Would be kind of crazy to see an 8x2.5" + 2xAIC NVME array!!!!
