Dual 850 pro 512s (1 OS 1 VMs etc)
dual WD red 3TBs in raid-1 (can't wait to move to silent ssd storage)
Asus strix 390x 8GB
windows 2016 tech preview 4 - containers, and hyper-v - fun stuff

Nice rig. That familiar brown on other-brown is a Noctua fan but which one?

I thought of getting two of their super-high airflow ones at 240 CFM for combing cooling of *anything* south of a car engine and dual-purpose as a heater in the winter and a air mover in the summer

- Is the rig as a whole quiet or would you go WC if you had to do it again?

seasonic platinum 650w psu, the whole thing is quiet at idle almost inaudible except for the spinner disks which make more noise than i like (got spoiled by SSDs). The coolers are UH12s I think.

I don't have a kill-a-watt meter on the wall but I am not worried about power consumption really. At full bore, all cores at 2.9ghz with the GPU at full bore too I still have enough juice from the PSU. If I get a chance I'll put a kill-a-watt meter on it.

No kiddos. The plan is to shove it into a corsair air 540 sometime soon.

Why do you use win2016 as your main os instead of using win10 + workstation. I dont think gaming performance will be the best on windows server

Nice. I would like to hear your unfiltered opinion on the Air 540 for a dual board if you get one. I have only seen people use it for gaming rigs so far. I really like your choices of stuff in it.
