I have LSI 9260-8i and planning on running RAID6 or RAID50 with 10-12 drives. Will my card support 3TB drives? Is it wise to go with 3TB at all? If not, should I go with proven old 7K2000 Hitachis or go for new 7K300 (unproven)? What about Samsungs 2TB (advanced format)? Do they play nicely? Aaaa, so many questions.

Thank you.

Your card will support 3TB, but they are not cost effective to purchase.
What is the array going to be used for? If its long-term archival for movies and such i would look at the 5k3000. They run cooler and have higher sequential speeds then the 7k2000.

Well, I decided to go with 7K3000 3TB drives. And let me tell you they are flying in RAID5 on this card. Just perfect.
