Does TrueNAS (FreeBSD) work on an M1 Mac ..?

Thinking of making a TrueNAS (FreeBSD or Ubuntu) with an m1 (maybe a Mac Mini), they're
- Quiet
- Very Low Wattage
- Low Thermals
- Use TB3 to an External NVMe Array ...
- 32GB of RAM is enough for my use
- Cheap solution is using the built in 10GbE option
- ...but, I could try using the other TB3 to connect to an SFP28 if possible

Does the Kernel support the M1 CPU ...?
Other obvious reasons not to do this that I didn't see ..?

Last ... I kinda have been waiting to do dRAID... That available yet?

Nope, it won't work.
According to here you need "2-Core Intel 64-Bit or AMD x86_64 processor"
No ARMs there...

I take it that means "no" for ZFS on MacOS also ..?

There are Linux distributions that support ARM and also support ZFS as a native (kernel, not fuse) filesystem.

A quick Google for "MacOS ZFS" shows that there are options, but probably not as safe and robust as you would like, considering you are wanting to use ZFS in the first place.

I had problem with macOS updates that disabled ZFS. Not currently trying.
