TLDR;
Looking for a switch for home use that has at least 1 SFP28 port and 4 SFP+ ports with VLAN.
OK, either my google-fu is failing me, or I’m on a snipe hunt.
I’m moving my office from the house out to my workshop. The shop is in an outbuilding roughly 60-70m away (via conduit; physically it’s closer).
I’d be moving a short cabinet with two servers, plus my workstation (not in the cabinet).
The only networking gear staying in the house would be the fiber modem and primary router, plus a POE++ switch for cameras and other random IoT stuff.
I have a MikroTik CRS510-8XS-2XQ-IN in the cabinet and want to connect a trunk to the house via SFP28 transceivers on each end and separate to appropriate VLANs for IoT, cameras, backup, general network/internet traffic, etc.
Problem is, I can’t find a switch with a few SFP+ ports and at least one SFP28 port, unless it has 20+ ports, which would be overkill.
The alternative is to run multiple fiber strands and have 2 or 3 SFP+ connections, but the conduit doesn’t have a ton of extra space for multiple fiber strands. Although, I guess I could pull out the two cat6 in there to free up space.
Any ideas on a small switch with a handful of SFP+ and a SFP28 that can at least handle VLANs?
Thanks
