i have a network device which has an SFP+ port on it.and it is installed with a 10g fiber optic transceiver. the device's specifications shows that it supports both 1 and 10g via the SFP+ port. i don't currently have a 10g-capable device to plug into the other end, so i plan to run it in 1g mode.

are SFP+ modules universal in the sense? i means that can i pop out the current fiber module and replace it with a 1g copper module that has an RJ45 in it? or there is a better way ?

Since I'm unfamiliar with the use of SFP modules , any factor which will potential damage to the device must be avoiding going to happen, so i desperately want to know the best way to fix the issue.pls give help me.thanks.

Check your device's manual and make sure it supports SFP modules at all.
If it does, you'll need a 1000BASE-T SFP transceiver module, which has the RJ45 connector you want. You can probably get one on eBay for 20 $.
