Hi,

I'm trying to figure out how much of an impact it would have to get a 2GB cache version of a 9300 series RAID card (I plan to use a maximum of 4-6 disks including CacheCade).. In terms of performance, etc.

The main reason is that I will need special CacheVault modules for 2GB cache cards.... the ones for 1GB have different onboard memory size. These cost quite a bit more and aren't plentiful in the used goods market.

What are the benefits of that? I only intended to use 400GB SSDs for CacheCade. Maximum 800GB.
large cachecade volumes can store more war/hot data, and with enough cache most small iops will hit the ssd tier and not the hdds

What is the limit for 1GB cache cards?
512 gb I think

With a larger cachecade limit you can use different setups that can boost the performance of the cachecade volume:
2x 400gb ssd in raid 1 or 4x 200gb in raid 10 (for 512gb)
